It's been a really long time though, and I was a kid at the time. NOT sure if that was the same tune used for captain E-O, but I certainly remember "makin' memories" live and in person before seeing that original 3-D show at Epcot (I'd have to say that was around 1983-84ish??).

Doobie, you are showing your west coast "true colors" on this one. :p

I believe this was the show that "makin memories" was a pre-show for.

Of course, it might have been used later, and my memory ain't what it used to be so maybe I'm totally wrong on this! If so, sorry!

    Yup...I definitely remember THAT too!

(in fact, somehow that Makin Memories preshow stuck in my head like little else on that, my second trip to WDW and the first to Epcot!)

When they changed the show to Captain EO, they had a different pre-show that featured a song about "Every Time you Capture a Smile", or something like that. Does anyone else remember that one?

Yep ... I am 99% sure it was written by the Sherman Bros.

~Remember EPCOT before the music stopped?~

Thanks for all the info! It's bugged me for a long time. Does anyone know where I could find video of it?

It definitely was the pre-show song to Magic Journeys, and it was soooooo memorable. The recording on the album is just the shortened version. I believe that the entire pre-show was about 10 minutes long.

I'd love to get a full length recording of both Making Memories and Magic Journeys!

I mean, what songs go along with the attractions - particularly at EPCOT - that are new. Remembering back, we had (going counterclockwise) Living with the Land; Veggie, Veggie, Fruit, Fruit; Imagination; Magic Journeys; the two Kodak preshows; Motion, Horizons; Energy; and Tomorrow's Child. Lyrics and singalong all. Other than Big Blue World in Living Seas, what attraction music can you sing along with now in EPCOT?
