She's never been to DL or DCA before and I want to make the trip as memorable and fun as I can.

I head to DL once or twice a year so I'm fairly familliar with the park, but I'm curious as to what you guys think would help make it the best and most memorable trip ever?

We've got 4 days for the park.

Basically - try to do everything (4 days should be enough). If you have early entry - head straight for Nemo - then hit Fantasyland. Definately use Fast Pass to the MAX (there are tips on this board about that). IF someone is having a birthday around this time - go to City Hall and get a Birthday Button. You will be treated like a VIP. You might also luck out and run into the Dream Squad. Free Mouse Ears or a Deluxe Fast Pass are really cool things...

    Have a great time.

Aside from the other suggetions, I'd take one of the guided tours. A Walk In Walt's Footsteps would be a good choice.

At least once everyone should enter the park and just take in Walt's real-yet-imaginary hometown. Walt said DL is a play... Main Street is Act One of the show. That's why i don't like to enter DL from the monrail... you miss the first act!

I have gotten many lumps in my throat just stopping and watching the little kids with HUGE eyes, and more excitement in their voices than one would think possible. I could sit in one spot all day and do nothing but people watch, and I would still have one of the best days of my life.

So many little details...hoofprints in the ground in Frontierland, look up, look down, look all around!!

Get an iced latte from the Blue Ribbon Bakery and sit on the porch on Main Street... a great break...and yes, people watching is such fun!!

Since you're going in August, be sure to check out the summertime treats. Dole Whips are really good and the frozen bananas from the carts can be really refreshing without getting a tummy ache from the sticky sweetness.
