Here’s my question/comment: I have the original VHS version that was released back in the day and that scene has been slightly altered in the restored version. In the original, that shot of the fire going out in the fireplace is a wide shot, while the newer version cuts off part of the fireplace and eventually pans over. ALSO, in the old version you can just barely see Maleficent’s outline and her eyes. In the enhanced version you can see her and her scepter quite well and you can even see some purple glow around her. Personally, I LOVE the original version of this scene much better. I think just barely being able to see her makes it a lot more frightening. Any other opinions? Thanks for listening and have a great day!!! -Rick

That would explain the difference in the "editing" of the shots. I thought that at first you barely see her eyes and the light, and then see a bit more. I'd take a look right now but I'm at work, lol.
