I'd like to run, but I'm not insane...just a little crazy. I've done some searching and can't find a thing.

    Any help would be divine!

Be advised that IF you are visiting the park on that particular weekend. Disney Transportation and the roads on property will be closed, shut down, unavailable for periods of time from 4-6 hours up until around 1 PM on each day. You WILL NEED to take alternative transportation to get to the parks; ie, boats or monorail.

The year that I was at WDW during this event I was staying at the WL, no buses were running and the ONLY park available to my party was MK. We were basically the only ones in the MK at 11 am that day. As no one else could get to the MK as the roads were closed. I rmember making the comment "Gosh this park looks so different went its empty of people" ( and this was at 11 AM mind you ). A Cast Member who overheard me responded "Tell me about it". As she had just gotten into work as the road were closed.

Since NO buses were running till 1 PM, we were instructed at the WL that we could take the boat to the MK or we could take the boat to MK, then take the monorail to TTC, then take the monorail to EPCOT. If we wanted to go to MGM the then we would need to get to EPCOT and then walk to MGM. Animal Kingdom was not accessable to us till after the roads were reopened and bus transportation had resumed.

If you go during this weekend I can guarentee you that if you are staying at any of the resorts on the monorail loop, WL or Ft Wilderness You will be the ONLY ones in the MK for the morning and early afternoon.

    Good luck!

Also be advised that there will be some people using crutches after the marathon while they are visiting the parks later in the day or evening. So you will definately see a disproportionate number of the walking wounded during your visit. This will be cumbersome expecially when trying to walk down from the entrance of MGM to ToT,RaRC.

For more complete information I would recommend calling Disney directly and asking Disney what the resort is like during this event.

If you are going to be there during this event I would highly recommend staying at the resorts on the monorail loop, WL or Ft Wilderness.

Otherwise be prepared to spend time at your resort until the roads open sometime between 11am on saturday when the half marathon is held ) or 1 pm on sunday ( when the full marathon is held ).
