I do have to say though, I disagree about the end credits song. I thought it was a pretty cute song that was reminiscent of a Dance Dance Revolution number. Nothing to write home about, but not the travesty he made it out to be.

It's not as bad as I was expecting, but I had very low expectations. The art is what's the worst about this movie. This film has one of the most garish color schemes of any Disney movie I've seen. Very harsh pinks and purples, like everything's made of plastic. Characters are stiff ( WD-Japan of course is much with anime-style characters like the "Gargoyles" cast ). I'm amazed at how different this movie looks from the original. And they even recycle the original's animation in some scenes. This is a Playhouse Disney show. We got the childlike mice deciding "Let's make a book!" while the Fairy Godmother tells stories, like this was "Out of the Box". This premise might be good for a Cindy coloring book, but it's unworthy of the "2". ( And why's the FG just hanging around in the palace, like a freeloader? The first segment is the weakest. Being a princess is all about rules of etiquette, but Cindy up the place with her plucky American panache even though she's not American There's so nothing to the royal life here other than dressing up and giving parties. I couldn't stop thinking about how divorced from reality this idealization of royalty was; At least the original had some amusingly greedy motivations in the king trying to get some grandkid heirs. The second segment has a potentially good idea. Seeing how Jaq would fair as a human is interesting. But all he got to do was trip over his feet. The third segment is the most watchable segment. Anastasia and her beau are appealing characters. Tress MacNeille using her lovely Babs Bunny is a significant part of why I was so tempted to go along with this premise. But...to go along with this segment means to accept that all this time Anastasia was really just the shy nerdy girl too scared to stand up to her mom. And that Cindy wouldn't even hesitate to help her. Uh, yeah...Making her beau a poor guy was just hammering the preachy message a bit too much. And he's even an ugly guy, too. Well, no, he's not ugly, but he's not conventionally handsome like the prince, and I couldn't help but notice that in the ball scene. And the Lucifer subplot, the less said the better....... BTW1: The prince got shoved out the way just when they returned from their honeymoon. Fun marriage. BTW2: You can tell Mary Mouse is more daring than other mice: She wears black silk knickers instead of the usual white. BTW3: Did the FG reconjure up Cindy's ballgown, or did she have someone remake it? BTW4: One gag is of the mice playing on the bread to get the baker beau's attention, but failing. I don't think I'd want to buy bread from that place. - Inkan http://ccwf.cc.utexas.edu/~jfl /intro.html

The reason I wasn't as harsh on Cindy 2 as I expected was because I kept thinking, "Well this isn't as bad as LatT2". For worst animated movie ever I'd pick "Belle's Tales of Friendship", the "movie" made by splicing one episode from the failed BatB cartoon show with two eps of the terrible "Sing Me a Story". Yow! Jdub, you hit on the Disney Cheapquel formula. Different from the Disney formula, in the Cheapquel formula the first film's stars have a child who grows up a spoiled brat that can't get along with his/her parents. So the child goes off and makes some big mistake and so the child has to apologize to Mom and Dad and ask for their help. LM2 and LatT2 are the prime examples. "Simba's Pride" and "Return to Neverland" are very similar, though there the kids aren't jerks and aren't as spoiled. So those two films are a little better.
