Wow, and it only took until the first sentence of the second paragraph to mention that little disappointment, which I could have easily predicted but in any case makes me sad.

And why does THAT not surprise me??

I would not be surprised if there were no flowers left in August because right now it is already 95 in May and by August those flowers will have probably been past their blooming, and been so hot they probably shrivel up. The flowers were really beautiful. We liked the floating ones and the topiaries. (well what we got to see... we didn't see too much.)
I was there two days ago but if you read my trip report, it was cut short by an emergency. I saw Eddie Money, and he was great. I would have loved to have seen the whole show and gotten a signed t shirt. Anyhow.

Did anyone see the peacock this year in the U.K. pavilion?

I noticed on the schedule that some well-known gardeners attended and gave seminars. Did anyone happen to attend the one given by Paul James? I love watching his show on HGTV. I was wondering if he was as kooky in real-life.

I would recommend it to anyone who might be the least bit interested.

The "Film Srip" scene by the main entrance is beautiful as is the "Lady & Tramp" and "101 Dalmatians" topiaries.

    Good Job WDW!

Glad to hear the festival is still going strong, I was a little worried after reading the review. Also VERY glad to hear that the tents near Imagination are gone, I never cared for the look of them either!

The use of the indoor space this year is wonderful. The line up of artists is also great.

For the newly born baby toads we saw hopping all over the sidewalks, however, it was a most unfortunate end for them. All it took was just one look for our sister, Orgoch, and the next thing we new, she was scooping up more toads than Pest Relations was handing out complaint forms.

ORGOCH: Well, do ya know anything better ta sprinkle yer weed and nettle salads with, witch? Them little toadies was the best danged things I put in my mouth since my latest batch a frog legs!

ORWEN: Well, personally,I thought it was awfully inhumane of you to go after them the way you did! It was embarrassing having to watch you climb over the fences into the flower gardens, all because you just HAD to satisfy some unnatural craving for baby toads!

ORGOCH: Git over it, sister! Next ta frogs, toads tickles the tummy best!

ORDDU: Anyway, once we got over the shock of Orgoch's actions, we did notice a lot of nice topiaries. There were several new ones, including LADY & THE TRAMP and 101 DALMATIANS.

ORWEN: I always thought, though, that the Dalmatians were supposed to be white!

ORGOCH: Wake up and smell the potion, Orwen! We're talkin' about bushes, here, in the shape of dogs--not the real dog!

ORWEN: Well, I just meant that maybe they could've painted the topiaries white with little black spots all over them! After all, in ALICE IN WONDERLAND, the card soldiers painted the white roses red!

ORGOCH: Yeah, and look what happened ta each one of 'em! They lost their heads. 'Course ya already lost yer mind years ago. Same thing...

ORGOCH: Like ya wouldn't already know that from personal experience, ya old hag! Any old bat whose favorite singin' group, The Ink Spots, dates as far back as the forties, cain't fool nobody about what went on in the sixties!

No, I didn't get the impression that the festival was bad from your review, the hairs just stand up on the back of my neck when I read "it seemed smaller" cause I've seen Disney Co. downsize and downgrade too much lately for my taste!

No, it was a cool article! Thanks for writing it.
