The food and menus are largely the same as they come from McDonald's but the owner of your local McDonald's branch pays McDonald's for that food. This isn't always the case though as you may find pizza and hot dogs at some McDonald's along with other things you may never expect to find at them. This may just be due to the ownership/management of that particular McDonald's

That 1950's thing.< Oh yeah -- and almost anything else McDonalds-- my wife was with McDonalds Corp HQ for 17 years in media relations -- attended press conferences/ trade conferences /openings- etc-- but the highlights were: McDonalds' VIP lounge @ Countdown to Extinction/Dinosaur when they had it / and going to all the McDonalds All-American Basketball games -- wife had to work but me and the kids got to hang out with the likes of John Wooden / Coach Wooten from DC - and a bevy of star players before they became pro stars -- some very cool stuff. (p.s. although the 1st mcdonalds really Downey California -- 1953 - and they still wear Speedee outfits !
