When the deal was not renewed, Burger Invasion in DCA and the french fry wagon went bye-bye. The original promotional tie-in deal made sense at one point, but I don't expect they'll re-ink a deal like that again anytime soon.

Rumor had it that the deal ended in part over childhood obesity fears. Both parties deny this was the reason. And since Disney sells all sorts of burgers, fries, ice cream, candy, cupcakes, I tend to doubt that as being much of a factor, too.

Although McD's fries are good, I am happy to have them out of the parks. It's easy enough to go outside of the park and find them (and for less $$ than they were inside of the parks).

The only good thing, for me, about McDonald's association with the parks was that insanely gross "It's a MEATier Shower" poster at DCA, which made me laugh a lot. C'mon, who wants a meaty shower, let alone a *meatier* one?

(Yes, I know, that was how DL began)

It was always tough for me though. I loved the smell of the fries when I got off of BT, but am proud to say I never ate a single one.

I don't miss it at all.

I know corporate sponsorships have been important over the years, but putting a name on a sign is a lot different from pushing such an obvious smell into everyone who walks by (even such a wonderful smell).

I carry my own food in my backpack but loved the idea of the McDonalds food in case I ran out or got hungry. Now I would rather just starve than pay prices Disney charges for their own food. $1.75 for a 25 cent banana is criminal or 6 dollars for a hot dog smaller than what Costco sells for $1.50 and gives you unlimited soda on top of that.
