George was essentially the straight man; Ferrell always seems to be the goofy one, even when ostensibly playing the straight man (like in Bewitched). George should be someone who can basically be straight man but who can turn comic when necessary... actually Steve Carrell wouldn't be a bad choice. Not physically reminiscent, but he's the kind of guy that, even when he's playing it straight, you always feel there's a laugh in there always threatening to break out.
