I treasure each and everything I received and always will. I mean think about it - most of us are complete strangers pulled together by our common love of Disney, and yet here we are thinking of each other, caring, gifting. That's pretty remarkable. Plus the music is always pretty good. ;-)

Ursula: Liquor Barn threeundertwo: *insert snarky laugh here*, GET home, the bash is on! Of course, I didn't know she was my bashee and this led to the grand unveiling and opening of my gifts online, of which I recall many lovely things and twelve pounds of chocolate and a leopard Mickey plate. Ah, fond memories!

She gave me several homemade items that have hung in my home since. She took a Mickey antenna ball, cut it in half and wrote Believe on matte paper, framed it in a shadowbook. Simple, understated and so powerful all at the same time and she made me homemade journals from scrapbooking paper that I still use and think of her each time. A couple years ago TiggerPooh1973 was my pal. We are friends and have shared things over the years that would mean I knew her handwriting and such. She did a great job disguising her writing with help. LOL! She got me a Mary Poppins collector plate that I still display AND she made me the coolest best ever Disney CD of mine and her favorite tunes. I play it all the time, loaded onto my iPod. I think of her whenever I'm listening. ;> Alexbook gave me the ornament they were giving to Cast Members at their Christmas Party I believe two years ago, it was Shag's Small World - that was beyond cool! And Poohbear made me a certain secret cookie she does well that was also a childhood favorite my grandma used to make. To open that box and smell those cookies brought back so many memories and she had no clue just how special that was, nevermind the AMAZING box it all came in. ;>
Originally Posted By Tiggirl I have many many wonderful memories of the LPWB but one of my favorites was from the first year. I think it was in 2002. The Bash started all because of an off topic comment in a thread where someone (can't remember who) said it would be fun if LP had a secret santa thing for Christmas. It wasn't mentioned seriously... after all how could a website with people scattered all across the globe have a secret santa game? But the thought wouldn't leave my brain. I just kept thinking about it. A few days later I got an email from Inspector57 saying he kept thinking about how we could do a secret santa thing for LP. LOL! We brainstormed for a while. We worried over the right name. We didn't want to exclude anyone by calling it anything relating to Christmas. We wanted everyone who wanted to participate to feel comfortable. There were many late night phone calls and emails between us trying to come up with a game plan, rules, contingency plans, etc. When Inspector made the first post announcing it I was surprised by the response. People were really excited for it! Inspector and I fumbled our way through that first year. We made things up as we went along, encountered problems we didn't anticipate and read more ecards than any person should ever have to. LOL! But it was such a rewarding experience. Working on the Bash from behind the sceens you really get to see the generosity of LP. We all know LP is a great community but too see so many people work so hard to make the first Winter Bash a success was truly heartwarming. People donated money for shipping costs, sent little presents to Inspector and I and words of encouragement when we were drowning in emails. It wasn't the gifts that made the bash special to me... it was to see LP pull together as a community in the spirit of giving and goodwill. Thanks to everyone who's ever participated in the Winter Bash (or those who plan to in the future!) because you've all shown what the holidays are really about... not presents, food or even cheery music. Its about doing things for others. So... thank you! ~Beth

Inside the can (well-cleaned of course) was a ziploc bag of goldfish. The problem: the bag opened and the goldfish became its own packaging peanuts. The other fond memory was that I had to go to the post office to pick up my final package...which was under my LP name. I got a kick out of the postmaster saying my "name" and had to tell her that it was a Secret Santa game. My favourite holiday memory is when Inspector and I would play hide and seek at his place. I would hide outside on Christmas morning and he would find me much, much, MUCH later...
