Along with a soundtrack from the ride. I'd think it would be a top seller. I know I'd buy at least the PoTC, and mayber the DL park itself along with Jungle Cruise. Not only that but they could package past DL rides that are no more and have special releases/editions.

Along with that I remember a few years back they had these exquisite sculptures of some of the figure from the PoTC I wish they'd do more of this stuff too.

So what type of stuff would you like to see?

nice polo shirts with embroidered logos for popular rides would also be nice - ( maybe like Hilfiger )

That's a loaded question. There are many things I'd like to see, but very few that I could actually afford!

I love the Olszewski minatures, but haven't bought any due to the cost. It would be awesome if the entire park were modeled, though. A cost-no-object wish would be if there were different sculptures so you could complete the miniature DL to resemble either today, DL, or DL of 1967.

I have bought two of the limited edition shirts that Shag has made. I really like 'em. I wish there were Shag hats to coordinate, or just hats in general.

I'd love to see an operating scale model monorail. I know theer is the toy, but I'd want a prototypical model. Since they are doing the Olszewski miniatures in 'N' scale, a monorail set in the same size would be perfect.

His price point is actually pretty good, but to do them all is a large commitment as well as a space commitment.

But I know for sure I will do the HM and Pirates pieces. The Jungle Cruise piece for DL was awesome.

    Yes, this would be awesome!

Fantastic stuff! My friend even interviewed many of the Model Department staff before they all passed away - not too many, if any, of them left now.

For me, the ideal DVD would not be a 20 minute "Reader's Digest condensed tour" of the Parks, but a nice, leisurely tour that would include lots of well-photographed shots of the Parks at their best. "Beauty shots" as they are called. It would not be character-centric, but would include some footage of the characters. Likewise it would not be aimed at children. (Or, if they were smart, they could do a "kid" version and an "adult" version.) It would include some of the details that set Disneyland apart from other parks. And, it would include as bonus material, good ride-throughs of many of the attractions, especially the ones that are too dark for guests to videotape themselves. It is a travesty that guests can't purchase a souvenir DVD that really captures the magic of their visit. Because Disney has really dropped the ball people are now looking to the plethora of fan-produced DVD's and Disney is missing out on a market for which there is an obvious demand.

How about an optional souvenir DVD that was updated yearly, or a "DVD Yearbook" that was available through a DVD-on-demand system? This type of system would serve the more limited market for this type of DVD and could allow for updates sooner than every 10 years. (Actually, since they've stopped publishing Disney magazine, this would be something great to send to Annual Passholders in the place of the magazine.)

This type of system would also be a good way to make available DVD's with the histories of current and long-gone attractions that someone else mentioned. Good quality footage especially of attractions that are no more would be preferred to the sometimes not-so-great footage on some of the fan DVD's.

The souvenir videos were a good record of how the Park(s) changed and evolved over the years, but with the infrequent updating this history is being lost, save for the fan videos and DVD's.

The other lacking area is postcards. Many of the selection of postcards do not reflect the Parks at their best. And, WHEN are we ever going to get an Indy one?

As for other merchandise, this 50th year would have been a perfect opportunity to put out a collector's DVD set containing all of the anthology Disneyland episodes and some of the promotional films. It is my understanding that the anthology shows were filmed in color even though some of the earlier ones have always been seen in black and white. This set should include color prints of these older episodes.

I'd also buy the opening and anniversary specials for both the Disneyland and WDW parks, but I suspect artist and music rights issues will long prevent those from being released commercially.

Like another poster, I would love a CD set of the land atmosphere music, both holiday and regular, of the parks.

I would buy smaller, postcard-sized versions of the print on demand art selections. I do not have space in my residence for the larger versions, so never buy any of them. But, I'd buy smaller versions in a heartbeat.

I think they've also dropped the ball with the scrapbooking products available at Disneyland. They could do much better. I'd bet that a scrapbooking set that has nice professional photos of scenes inside the rides where flash photography is prohibited would sell. (Postcards of the same could serve the same purpose, but a kit or set might be more convenient.)

If Disney would do some of these things, they'd get more of my money! hint hint
