In the original overview artwork, it looked like one of the merchandise or refreshment facilities across from the Mermaid ride was going to be themed to a windmill, possibly from the "The Old Mill" short. The new artwork is vague in that area to tell whether or not this is still included. Same for the circus area outside of the "dueling Dumbos" and the old Barnstormer coaster. I suppose we can hope for some nice support facilities that will be included in this massive project.

The attraction is reported to be approx. 3 minutes in ride time. That's about Cartoon Spin's length as well.

But to answer your question HMButlter .. plenty of artwork has shown Ariel to have her Meet&Greet on the bottom edge of the ride.

In this photo .. you can make out the steel grid being built, attached to the ride building here:

    <a href="http://images2.wdwmagic.com/app_images_gallery/Attractions/Fullsize/Fantasyland_Full_12574.jpg?Expires=1295925351&Signature=isOycXslUMwdJ0ElOUBnVpUrt2PUBjK3dQuP6pK5uk7nQdwrSEJBXB7Qpg0vQvrOIhgwWazraTOfEnYnyGDooYwWl8aTiEmXCBdYDGeLhXtn7d-QY0p8f0sbIJyeh4GIq3~HKKTuxdIXxroYtwlkOEdifRrPcTuAV00pNm1omk8_&Key-Pair-Id=APKAIXD73LCXQPO2WCKQ" target="_blank">http://images2.wdwmagic.com/ap...QPO2WCKQ</a>

And I've said this before .. and I'll say it again. People should be careful not to be creating expectations of a "E Ticket".

With Skinner reporting 3 minutes .... I'd call this a good solid "D". But nothing more!

The show building is just too small.

Actually .. there is no proper footage YET that shows the speed of the Omnimover train. We see the camera man zooming and walking his/her way through .. but the only point where you see an omnimover moving .. is 2/3rds of the way in. You see the back of one driving backwards. But it last for no more than 1-2 seconds .. and you really don't get a proper "speed" feel for it.

If I could figure the speed in that 1-2 second bit ... I would say it's closer to Buzz Lightyear's "crawl" speed.

At Buzz's crawl speed .. the ride would be longer.

If it's Haunted Mansion's/Adventure Thru Inner Space's speed .. then yes ... it will most likely be 3 minutes.

    For the record (DL):

    H.M - 6 minutes
    ATIS - 6 minutes
    BUZZ - 5 minutes

I would guess that it will be longer than any of the Fantasyland darkrides, but probably shorter than any of the omnimovers.

And I don't know if it's still in the plans (I doubt it, since it's been a long time since I've heard anything about it), but one of the early reports was that there would be some sort of underwater-themed indoor play area near the exit of the DCA version. Given how little space there is in that location, I would be pretty surprised to see them build anything substantial there. However, since WDW has more space, I wouldn't be too shocked if they decided to add some of that sort of stuff. There's a rather large play area in Mermaid Lagoon in TDS that's very well themed, so if they take parts (or all) of that, it would work quite well. I read about the play area in the first round of announcements for the attraction, and there's been nothing since then, so I don't think it will actually happen, but you never know...

    When/where did they confirm that?

And a follow up: were the Imagineers who confirmed this counting the three minutes it will take to navigate your way out of the gift shop at the end of the ride?

Seriously, though, 6 1/2 minutes... that sounds like a throw-back to classic Disney ride design. Works for me.

    Yea, they did say that.

Still, it's going to go so freaking slow. If HM went as slow as this thing it'd be Spaceship Earth long. It's too slow for how long the track is, IMO.
