That said, if Maywood's finest will not fulfill their basic obligations (defending a Federal Post Office from open vandalism, for starters), then it is time to bring in the Feds. Hopefully, they will clear out EVERYONE who is disturbing the peace.

Maywood is sowing the wind, and has had a taste of the whirlwind. Regardless of anything anyone there says, this is the United States. And I believe it is really, really unwise to goad Arnold Schwarzenegger during an election year. (I also agree it is odd that this story has received so little coverage. It seems like a natural for Fox, Rush and Hannity. Who's asleep at the switch?)

A few dozen people from Save Our State and like-minded groups lined up behind police barricades, shouted into bullhorns and waved American flags to protest characterizations of the heavily Latino, square-mile city by some elected officials as a sanctuary for illegal immigrants... Joseph Turner of San Bernardino, founder of Save Our State, said his group staged the protest in Maywood "to punish the city … for their transgressions" by disrupting traffic and commerce and making the city pay for extra police... No arrests were made as police turned back attempts by counter-demonstrators to take side streets around the barricades and confront the Save Our State group. Pedro Olguin, a union organizer from Maywood, stood with the counter-protesters, many of whom were from groups that drew from outside the city. Among them were Act Now to Stop War and End Racism, and the Mexica Movement, which proclaims that peoples indigenous to the Americas "are not the illegals. Europeans are the illegals..." [Maywood Mayor Thomas] Martin, who supported the measure and well-publicized statements by a colleague that Maywood is a "sanctuary city," was promoting an event at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church three blocks away, where a couple of hundred people were treated to free lunch and Mariachi music while they were urged to become citizens and register to vote.<< So the Times somehow missed the stamping-on-pthe-flag-while-violating-a-federal-facility aspect of the story. Doubtless it was... an oversight.

But I wouldn't put it beyond the Minutemen types to stage such an event, either.

Originally Posted By YourPalEd I'll tell you all, my laughing friends, if you think you can handle it, a tiny little truth, that has been untold. During the first illegal imigration rally in los angeles, the day time news, showed the millions of people holding almost only mexican flags. By night time, the footage of the parade had changed to new shots of close ups of groups only holding american flags. In today's digital world it is easy to edit and censor but not in the printing world. So to make the next days morning edition of the los angeles times, they had already went with the photo of the mexicans flags, or almost did. All of their photos being discussed in the captions and articles, would need an overhead shot to make sense. Since only mexican flags could be seen in all of the overhead illegal imigration crowd shots, the los angeles times airbrushed out the mexican flags and put in 4 to 6 american flags. Any adobe photo shop user, of which there are about a billion, will notice it instantly. Just go look it up on the web site. When was that, 8 months ago we had that rally? Okay so why do they want you to think these people love america, instead of hate america? Why are they lying to us, and hiding it out of the news. The answer: The republican cabal of lying traitors have no respect for themselves, or any other human being on this planet. They see mexicans literally as cogs for their industrial machines. They serve as producers and consumers of meaningless products, they haven't had a chance to experience yet. These people haven't experienced hot and cold running showers, like spoiled people have. Like white people have. Well, i know it's hard to take a stand, but it looks like lots of people are dying for a mutitude of reasons, especially in our hospitals. I think english fluency comes first. If they can outlaw naughty words, i think we should outlaw the use of foreign languages by workers on the job. Part of the insults the customer feels now adays, are the mexican workers, who turn their backs on the white customers, spit in their food in the back, and talk loudly in mexican about putting stuff in the customers food, that happened to me in anaheim, near disneyland at that subway sandwich place. I walked in and the 3 mexican girls were chattingas loudlly as possible in spanish, as i walked to the front. The one leaning on the counter and talking the loudest said blah blah, gringo, blah blah blah, caca. When she realized i may look like a bum, but it was because of my high standards, she stood erect and let out a sigh that she had been caught. She asked if she could help me, sir. I looked at the menu, then at he. "No thank you," i said, "i guess i'm not that hungry." I just left. Then at a midas muffler, the illegal alien their was a homosexual, who started cat calling me the customer. When i went to pick up the car, it was working great. This illegal alien actually came out and stared at me sexually, he was covered in tatoos. i asked the manager what he wanted, and the manager had a sly grin, and said he didn't know. I stared at the man enough to let him know how ignorant and unworthy he ws, until he slunk away. We have to be careful, and not hurt people too much with awareness, but to me the lowering or basic human decency in anaheim is disgusting.
