Is it a communication or power tower? Or is it simply decorative? We've been wondering about this since our last trip in June as we passed it many times in our travels then.

To be honest, given it's explanation about the requirement for a "Y" shaped tower in the link, I feel this version works quite well for it's location! And you're right, coming back from Tampa, the tower gave us that "you're almost there" feeling!
