    I watched him after school too, he seemed like a genuinely nice guy.

    DlandJB, I watched Dark Shadows too, and a music show set on the beach with I think Mark Lindsey and Paul Revere, can't remember the name though.

    He was also the mastermind behind Jeopardy!, Wheel of Fortune and a host of other game shows. I suspect he made more money off those two shows than anything else he did in his entire career.

    Merv was more on the lines of Regis, (although much more mellow). Dick Cavett was more of a late night "Tom Snyder" one on one interview type show. (If I remember correctly from my infanthood)

    In fact, one of the best weeks was in the early 70s, when Mike took the show to Walt Disney World. I remember seeing him ride Space Mountain, and even going to see 'The Hoop-dee-doo Revue'

    A easy going little show.

    re: Ann Fraser, I remember one time she said that Petaluma was a funny name for a town and then also said something about Livermore, you probably didn't live in Livermore then Lisann but when I hear Livermore I think of Ann Fraser and her unprofesional comments. Funny what sticks with you.
