"Select the Orange Team or the Green Team

Mission: SPACE utilizes a multiple-arm centrifuge that spins and tilts to simulate the illusion of speed and gravitational forces. Realistic sounds from overhead and vivid video images only add to the experience of the simulation.

As an astronaut in training, you are given the choice to be a part of the Orange Team or the Green Team.

The Orange Team is a more intense training session and is the original version of the attraction, where you will experience forces up to 2.4G—more than twice the force of the Earth's gravitational pull.

The Green Team has a less intense experience. You do not feel forces up to 2.4G when choosing this option. If you are prone to motion sickness, you should opt for the Green Team."

From what I understand, the Green is the non-spinning version? Or it spins, just not as fast? How bad is the 2.4 G version, say compared to a roller coaster? Are people still getting ill/headaches from the 2.4 G version? Just want to know what I should plan for with my kids (14, 11)? Is the Orange too much? Is the Green too tame?

Any advice on the current state of the attraction greatly appreciated, thanks.

I couldn't tell I was spinning, though, except that I was aware my eyes weren't tracking.

I think the scariest thing is that, unlike a coaster, you don't know how long that sensation is going to last - and for me, I was glad it didn't continue on too much longer than it did (but I'm old and not exactly in great shape!.

None of us are prone to motion sickness, though my DH is not fond of rides that depend on hurling you into a 360 (like the old Tidal Wave at Great America) and he was fine with this. Likewise, my DS has gotten headaches from a couple of coasters - Hulk and Ghostrider - and was fine on this, though I think I enjoyed it the most.

If you have time, why not try the green first and do the orange if you want more. Some people we heard who went on the green - and they were young adults, not old fogies like me - thought it was plenty intense enough.

I have never needed the special bag provided on the Orange side, but I always keep it available and come off the ride feeling woozy every time. These days I ride Green, but would ride Orange if feeling good that day and with a group who won't ride Green. Also, lines tend to be much shorter on Green side.

The first time it was the perfect intensity and we left feeling exhilarated and just a bit shaken. The second time it made both of us feel ill and we decided never to go on orange again. I am sure that green is enough for us, and we're not old fogies.

This attraction sounds more like sustained G forces during the acceleration stage, with no indication as to how long they will be (e.g. something to be endured), even if only for a few seconds, and very intense. Sounds like experiences for Orange vary, so I think we'll just go green and avoid the risk. Thanks for the advice.
