But every Thursday in January, Turner Classic Movies will be showing some of Hiyao Miyazaki's movies.

The animation was excellent, and i could understand the point that Miyazaki was trying to make, but I could not get a handle on the other-world aspect of it. Weird, weird, weird.

Ghibli can be an excellent influence on Disney. trek, if you had trouble with the strange aspects of "Spirited Away" you should try the "Whisper of the Heart" DVD when it comes out in March. That was directed by the late Y. Kondo from a Miyazaki script adaptation. It's completely rooted in reality, but it's still a great story. Especially if you have teenage children.
