I watched it from the roof of the Contemporary this visit, mainly to be able to appreciate the quality of the perimeter fireworks that have been a hallmark of the MK special fireworks shows of late. This show they are shooting fireworks extensively from the "Fireworks Island" in the Seven Seas Lagoon. And there were a LOT of them. I would be willing to bet that every single firework that was shot off from the main launch beyond way behind the castle was matched, shell-for-shell from out in the middle of the lagoon Seven Seas Lagoon. A special treat and bennie for people staying in the Contemporary, the Grand Flo, and the Poly. And the use of perimeter fireworks was EXTENSIVE this program. They didn't just use them a time or two during the show and then during the finale. Instead we were treated to coordinated perimeter shells at least a dozen times, spread out during the whole show. Some of the ring of perimeter bursts were the big blue 5-pointed stars they use over the castle during Wishes. Be there! Tues July 4 at 9pm.

Actually, back in 1976, the Bicentennial Fireworks Spectacular over the Seven Seas Lagoon performed from July 2nd thru the 5th, every night, and that special show was F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S!!! Involving hot air ballons, kites and tons of pyro shot from the island in the center of the lagoon, as well as from the Electrical Water Pageant barges. This was actually the first time we saw the US flags and stars on the water pageant barges. That week, we stayed at the Contemporary and saw the Bicentennial show three times. The guests were being directed to sit on the shores and on the grassy side by the MK monorail station facing the lagoon. It was an experience I will never forget from WDW.

On the way out I noticed they had opened backstage on the Tomorrowland side and were forcing people to take that way to relieve Main Street before the parade. I had just taken the boat over to MK after work at the Lodge and so took the boat back. I rather enjoyed the trip so all in all a fun experiance Tomorrow- Studios -em

ARGH!! It's just an ugly area back there highlighted by a lovely trash compactor and plain wall backside of facades!! I wish they built Arvades similar to DLP's and end the bad backstage show for good!

I've noticed that most times they've planned to do this they've moved in rows of large potted plants to at least help hide much of the backstage real-worldness.

What I don't know is if that's an official name or just a nickname that the fireworks people have given it. (probably an "unofficial" name)
