Gotta love that roller coaster. Next we did the Triton’s Carousel. We decided to look around in the shops in Paradise Pier and I was glad I did. I found a necklace for my son at home that I had bought for him at WDW a couple years ago and he wore it everyday but it broke last winter. I didn’t think I’d ever see one just like it again and there it was. Next we walked over to the Maliboomer and Matt rode. Then walked over to the Golden Dreams movie and it was our first time to ever see it. For some reason on our last two trips it was either closed or the timing was wrong to see it. It was a nice presentation. We stopped at the corn dog shack and ate corn dogs for lunch and watched the cars from the Movie Cars. They were pretty cute. Then we walked over to Grizzly River Run and rode. I was glad I brought my sandals and changed into them, I got soaked from the knees down! We looked around the shops on that side and then walked over to Disneyland. We toured the 50th Anniversary exhibit again and watched the movie. We really loved this place. Took the Omnibus down Main street and to NOS. Toured the Gallery again. We could appreciate the movie props more now after seeing Pirates2. Next we rode the Columbia and enjoyed being taken over by a pirate. He even stole my camera out of my backpack! Bloody Pirates!! We walked over to NOS again and listened to some more pirates play some Pirate songs. We watched them many times over our stay and loved them. Saw Captain Jack Sparrow but never waited in the crazy long line to see him. We walked over to Tomorrowland and rode Star Tours. We were getting pretty tired so decided to head back to the shuttle and to CCI. We rested our feet by watching some tv and sitting in the air conditioning! We had some fruit left from breakfast so finished it and refilled our water bottles. Walked back to DCA and into Paradise Pier to get twirl ice cream cones. We then found a spot on the backside of Grizzley river, right by the waterfall and took a seat to wait for the Electrical Parade. The Electrical Parade is one of my favorites because I remember it so vividly from Main Street the first time I came to Disneyland. I love it. After the parade we walked to DL and the fireworks were cancelled again so there was horrible crowds to Adventureland. Waited about 15 minutes for Pirates. The line to this always looks so long, but moves really very quickly. We then walked back to the CCI slowly and got to bed fairly early, before 11:30pm! Happy Birthday to Me!! I’ve always wanted to go to DL for my birthday and it took 44 years to make it. So up and ate breakfast by the pool. Took the shuttle to Disneyland at 7:45am and into DL we went. Over to City Hall to get me a birthday sticker. Matt would not let me go the day without a sticker! To be honest – I’ve never had so many people wish me happy birthday. Cast members everywhere wished my happy birthday. On rides, walking the parks, in food places, even from the parade! I even had one hand me a phone and Goofy wished me a happy birthday! It was actually fun, kind of like being a little kid again when your birthday was so very important and people made it special for you. I loved it. Anyway, over to Tomorrowland for FP for space and then rode Buzz twice (I won both times, but I think Matt let me win for my birthday). Next we walked over to Pirates and then over to Indy with about a 20 minute wait there. But isn’t it fun waiting in the Indy queue? We grabbed a FP for Indy afterwards and over to splash which was closed. So we rode Pooh and then bought carmel apples in the store and sat on a bench and ate carmel apples on my birthday – your allowed to eat junk food in the morning if it is your birthday! While we waited Splash opened so we grabbed FP’s and then walked over to NOS and rode the Train full circle from NOS. When we got back I sat in my favorite place – the park between HM and the Train station and Matt ran for FP’s from BTMRR. I listened to the jazz group and enjoyed them. They threw me beads! I’m saving all my NOS beads to hang in my room when I redo it with a NOS theme! Next we strolled over and watched the Bootstrappers do their thing. I love the Captain Jack Sparrow song. While we sat Matt ate some gumbo in a bread bowl and I wanted to go on HM but it was down. We walked to Frontierland and sat and listened to the music there. Matt was going to play at the shooting gallery but some woman kicked him when he put a quarter in the slot and told him he couldn’t use that gun next to her! She was just lucky she was gone by the time I found out about that! We went over to the Tiki room and ate whips while taking in the show. Out to Main Street and rode the Horse Trolley up and an old time car down MS. The CM on the car had everyone sing happy birthday to me and even people on the street joined in! Matt thought it was great fun. We then took in the 50th anniversary exhibit and movie, then walked down MS and took a spot outside the old time movie theater to watch the parade. Alice and the Mad Hatter wished me happy birthday from the float! We walked to Tomorrowland and found the talking trash can. It surprised Matt and I laughed and laughed. It took him quite awhile to figure out what was going on. It certainly draws a crowd. Space M was down so we decided to go to dinner. We choose the Plaza Inn for my birthday dinner. Originally I had ps’s for Blue Bayou but after looking at the menu, Matt didn’t sound very thrilled with the choices so we cancelled those and decided on the Plaza Inn. We were happy with our choice. It was a great meal and we just sat and relaxed. I had the pot roast and Matt had the pasta. We shared a big piece of apple pie for my birthday, too. Then back to Tomorrowland and rode Buzz. Then went to club Buzz and caught the Elvis tribute. We love Elvis (get that from my Dad). Next we walked over to Frontierland and rode BTMRR. Then off to Critter Country and rode Splash. Didn’t even get soaked! Back to BTMRR and rode again, then over to Indy and Pirates. By then we decided we’d better get a spot for the fireworks. We waited about 45 minutes and then then cancelled them. NOOOOO…… so we followed the mass exit over to NOS and stood and watched Fantasmic! We used the middle light tower trick and this time didn’t get pushed out of place. After this we walked back to CCI. My birthday was a great day. I wish I could have seen the fireworks, but what are you going to do? Matt made it special though because he was ever so sweet to me all day and bought me a couple gifts, too. He’s such a great kid, I’m blessed.
