I mean please. I have been ranting about this BEFORE the 50th started. WDW wants MK to REPLACE DL. They want its history, its specialness, etc. If the Big One hit DL, Al Weiss would be celebrating at Victoria and Alberts. ENOUGH w/ this 'coexisting' doo doo and they 'compliment each other'. NOO!!!! They r in DIRECT COMPETITION w/ each other. Nemo cannot surface soon enough.

Originally Posted By MrToadWildRider >>but Disney is about making money and selling the parks and since they realize most guests are dumb and have no clue about Disney << First - what's wrong with Disney being about making money? If they weren't you wouldn't have Disneyland to idolize. You wouldn't have anything Disney because making and operating companies requires making money - shock- . Second- I don't think calling guests "dumb" because they don't jump up out of their armchairs and shout "THAT ISN'T DISNEYLAND'S CASTLE IN THE BACKGROUND OF THAT SHOT" is exactly fair. I think it's more dumb to have such outrage over some stupid commercial. It's funny that the people who supposedly "love" Disney the most - people on these and other sites - never EVER seem to have anything good to say about Disney. If you really loved it you would quit complaining and just enjoy it. There's this elitist attitude like everyone knows what's best for Disney but in case you haven't noticed they've been making money and they've been making millions happy every single year. What's so bad about that?

All the parks are owned by the Disney Corp. Their aim and obligation is to make money. How they advertise is up to them. I could be wrong but my guess is that no one has arrived at WDW after booking a vacation because of that ad only to be outraged to find that it was actually DL they wanted to go to. For those of us that love Disney we know the difference. As for me seeing a child on a cart with their brain matter coming out of their ears because someone decided to get behind the wheel of a car impaired is "heinous". A possible intentional misrepresentation of one theme park as another is nothing more than an annoyance. Those of you that can have a magical day.

So its OK to let them rewrite HISTORY, distort it, amd OBLITERATE DL in the process. What a Disney 'fan' YOU are...

What a Disney 'fan' YOU are... << Is it possible you're misunderstanding the commercial? Maybe it was a poor choice the way it's edited (I haven't seen it) but maybe it's just trying to impart that the spirit of Walt himself is present in WDW as well as DL. Is it that hard to imagine that if Walt was alive when the MK was opened he wouldn't have been there and been just as enthusiastic about it as he was DL? In fact the way he spoke of EPCOT Center one may even believe he was MORE excited about the "Florida Project" and since he had sadly passed at the time he wasn't there in spirit? As said above I hardly find this to be a "Heinous" act - it's bad judgement maybe but it's hardly a crime against humanity. The parks are in competition with themselves as far as management goes but at the end of the day it's the same entity. The stockholders still get their money it just depends on who has to answer to corporate about why their park has lower attendance than their sister park on the other coast. You make it sound like someone at WDW is in some dark cave laughing shrieking "NOW PEOPLE WILL JUST ASSUME WDW IS THE OLDEST PARK MUAHAHAHAHA" - I really don't think anyone cares that much and I don't see that as the intention of the commercial. It's a poorly conceived commercial apparently period. Leave it at that it's nothing to lose sleep over.
