However, the Arribas Brothers glass shop is something very unique and, in my opinion, very Disney. They're just moving an already existing shop to a larger space, and the bakery is sorely in need of more seating. I think some of you automatically complain the minute Disney makes an announcement. When you think about this, it's really beneficial to the park and its guests.

Like Nikki said, if they got rid of the shadow stuff entirely, and threw in more generic crap (like they DID, in fairness, back when things got a lot less charming), THEN I'd say it's more "mall city with a castle". This does not sound like that so much. Arribas Brothers IS a very important facet of Main Street (I don't know for how long...since opening?), and it's important enough as a unique Disney thing that they actually import the pros from America to work in World Bazaar in order to keep those shops authentic and genuine. Now, as I'm typing, I'm thinking I'm confused though. Is Arribas the glass blowers, or the shadow artists?

Unfortunately, one thing that has returned in the murder rate. There have been six murders in the last 24 hours, and twelve total since December 28. It's so senseless and stupid. It was the one thing I had hoped Katrina had washed away, but it seems to be back. People went out of their minds celebrating Christmas here this year. Most retailers couldn't even keep Christmas tree stands in stock. With Katrina a year behind us, the Saints doing so well and LSU winning the Sugar Bowl, we've got a lot to celebrate!

I haven't seen anything/one say the Market House would be reopening anywhere else. AM I mistaken? If not, this is another very bad move. Remember, Arribas had a full-size store that was taken away for bakery expansion about five years ago. Now, they want to expand the bakery again, so they move the Crystal Arts into Market House. The net result is one more unique place gets the shaft, so they can sell more rice crispie treats, muffin and bottle water. That's not good....

The market House is goign away for more tables and chairs. This is exactly what I was referring to in my original post. More watering down the theme of Main Street.

In the whole scheme of things, I still think this is a positive. I think this is a move for practicality, not simply for profit. Doobie.

It was a place where they sold housewares-not historic or collectible housewares, but Mickey salt and pepper shakers! What are we losing if they move the glass shop there? They're placing a unique shop and piece of entertainment there and getting rid of salt and pepper shakers and Mickey themed pasta spoons. I don't see how this is a big loss. I never understood why the bakery didn't have more seating, especially when it's such a draw for breakfast and snacks before the parades. As someone who loves to enjoy a monster cinnamon roll for breakfast or a eat a handmade ice cream cookie sandwich for dinner before SpectroMagic and Wishes, this is a godsend.
