It seems to us that whenever we take the Riverboat ride around Tom Sawyer Island, there isn't as much to see in the Florida version as there is when you visit the Riverboat Ride in California.

ORDDU: Of course California's version suffers a bit, too, ever since Cascade Peak was torn down. We miss the mountain with its waterfalls. But Florida never had that to begin with and it certainly would be a nice addition if they ever decided to add it.

ORWEN: I think they just need more animatronic figures along the banks of the river, too.

ORGOCH: What they OUGHT ta do is set that dang cabin on fire agin!! Got matches???

You see, though I love Country Bears and Liberty Square, I find that the combo of Fantasyland and TTF to be soooooo weak (thankfully soon to be addressed), coupled with the poor excuse of a Frontierland and a toony Tomorrowland, and nothing to see on the train, with the weakest versions of PotC and IASW, I really get annoyed when going that I ddn't opt for one of the other Disney resorts instead.

But if they did plus the ROA and the RR, along with the Fantasyland redo and de mall Main Street, then I would find there would be more magic in that Florida kingdom.

    The AA's do look sad.

Nope, and I can't remember the lame reason for stopping it either.

Both attractions could become big draws for a smaller amount of money if they just had some show wrapped around them.
The Magic Kingdom is always crowded, so why not plus both attractions for a modest $10 - $15 million and you would have attractions that would draw a crowd.

Because they can leave them alone, and get away with it. They are still packing them in, so TDO figures why should we waste our money improving things as long as we have folks willing to spend a bunch of money for less, and less show.

ROA, and the WDW RR are what I would consider center piece attractiuons that should showcase the Magic Kingdom. I think they fail to meet a lot of folks expectations. A few million apiece would be money well spent.

I just think they could add a lot of train scenes back there. More than they have had in the past. They could do the same in other areas too. In California they have (admittedly they're aging) the Primeval World and Grand Canyon dioramas.
It seems like the Magic Kingdom trains could use a lot more show than what they see riding by Splash Mountain and Big Thunder.

However, if they ever did decide to get rid of the dino's from UoE, what better place to put them than along the WDW Railroad!

It would be great if somehow during the Fantasyland redo, they could add some scenery behind the new Little Mermaid building to help hide it and dress it up. Heck, a new tunnel here when the train arrives at the new Fantasyland Station (formerly Mickey's Toontown Fair) would be a great transition from the realistic 'wilderness' (aka Florida scrub brush) of Frontierland to Fantasyland's new Enchanted Forest.

I'm not sure what else could be added back along the train route from the RoA area of Frontierland to Fantasyland, but it sure could use SOMETHING to spice it up a little. Wouldn't it be cool if the train could go through a small western town and get 'held up' by bandits? (Like Knott's.) Unfortunately, that would probably cause traffic situations for the trains since it is THE primary transportation within the park.

Another thought while it travels behind Fantasyland, how about a larger scale "Story Book Land" with miniature buildings from Disney movies. It could also double as their response to Legoland and their "Mini Worlds".

This is what happens at DLP. The Storybookland is behind the berm and the train has a great view.

I remember on my wife's 1st trip in 2000, she got off the train and said, "is that it?".

There is loads that can be seen from the train in PAris, and even more in Anaheim. In WDW, not so much.

It has been so long since I rode the riverboat I'm not sure what or where additionally scenery could be added.

The beauty of this type of venue is you can't slow down to see something as you pass by. So what happens is you see something new each time you ride and that draws you back again and again. I find the same thing happens in Spash Mountain. The great thing with these is there is no limitation on what they could add. They can pick any theme from anywhere in the park.(more so with the train than the boat. It is a shame to have these great beautiful machines not supported.
