APs will be able to vote online or at the park for which movies they want to see on the big screen, and then sign up for specific dates and specific movies. I also wonder what the movie choices will be. I would enjoy seeing a big Cinemascope classic like Mary Poppins on the big screen. But if it's something more modern and junky with precious yet smutty Disney Channel "stars" like Hannah Montana, then I'll pass. Let's hope they stick with the Walt Disney classics on this one. Of course, the deviant side of me really wants to start an online campaign to vote for "Herbie Goes Bananas" and/or "The Apple Dumpling Gang" and throw off the vote tally a bit.

Mary Poppins wasn't in Cinemascope. ;-) Opinions seem to vary as to what the intended aspect ratio was (as do the various home video releases). But there's no dispute that it was shot on standard, non-anamorphic 35mm.

I don't know where Al is getting his info on Lincoln attendance, but, every time that I've gone in when the VOL are performing, the theater has been at least two thirds full if not more. I don't hit it on every visit however, so there may be slower days. I'm hoping that they'll bring them back at Christmastime, although, I'd also love to see the Dicken's Carolers returned during that time. As an AP, I would go to see the movies, IF they were something rarely seen on a big screen AND on weekend nights, not workday weekday nights. I would be willing to be that if there is voting for particular films, Disney will preselect which films. Otherwise, I can see LOTS of votes for Song of the South!

I really have no idea if showing movies in the Lincoln Theater would be popular or not. My gut says no. There are exceptions, but I find that Disneyland nuts, as a whole, really couldn't give a tinker's dang about the film back catalog. I bet there ain't ten people reading this who have ever even heard of The Cookie Carnival, and probably even fewer than that who would drive to Disneyland to see it.
