But here's the worst. I have a mouse nesting on my new car's engine. Whaaa? I removed the nest, but I know that the little Mickey might be chewing on wires. I'm thinking of putting mousetraps every night in the car, back area and engine and removing them every morning (in addition to placing them around the garage) and having the exterminator take care of the immediate area surrounding the house. Anyone with some good ideas? I am so definitely calling the exterminator on Monday morning. I'm beginning to feel like Evan Almighty!

I didn't know you were having all those experiences. We had a snake in the house once (of course I posted all about it, lol) but I've never had a mouse nesting in my car. I don't know what to do about that really except be sure not to give him a cookie 'cause you know what happens then... I did a quick Google for you and found this: http://tinyurl.com/5pzkbr I wonder what the Car Talk guys on NPR would say. Hope you are able to get this dealt with quick. I would be interested in finding out what was successful for ya.

Sounds as though calling the exterminators was a good move, given the veritable menagerie you've been hosting. (I know I would have been tempted to cheap out and fill the garage with D-Con traps.)

I couldn't smell a thing, although when was the last time I smelled a mouse carcass, lol. So now I have traps set around the outside of the house for little mousies - that should also take care of the snake problem. And another trap for the groundhog. The mice will die, and they take the groundhogs and release them very far away from the area. Oh yeah, and I asked him why there seem to be far less groundhogs around this year. He laughed and said that he has another client close to here who has been shooting them. OMG. He did give me this option for the snakes, but I decided against it: http://tinyurl.com/6ml46f

Friday evening around 9 I heard the trap spring... then I heard a bit of trashing... it took me a while to muster up the courage to go look, then a while longer to *cerefully* move the whole contraption to the garage. I felt icky for quite a while afterwards. But I was glad I didn't have to look forward to it going off in the middle of the night! UGH!

I'm also wondering why that squirrel wasn't attracted by the bait in the groundhog trap as he leisurely munched on a nut on my porch this morning. I so need to move to a high-rise condo.
