Why does the park close at 5pm? We luckily planned our day on a EMH (evening one) so got the extra 3 hours, without this we would have missed SO much. As it was we never go to see it all. Im sure an extra few hours a day wouldnt bother the animals would it? It was BY FAR the busiest park we visited all holiday, I would hate to see it at peak periods! We heard a CM saying it's like that most days, I know the EMH does often make a difference, but it was crazy, I cant believe we didnt have to queue longer for things really. Walking was a no go, you were doing the penguin shuffle all the time. Great with a stroller! good job Im an ace driver!..lol. Had a brilliant day anyway. Oh a funny tale to tell you. My 10 year old was looking forward to the dino digs area ,as it was closed when we last went, he ran in, taking his trainers off, only to be told by the CM that he had to put them back on (weird) so he was loosing his cool trying to brush the course sand off and get his trainers back on, he had it balanced on the end of his foot, and kicked his foot up onto the air......off flew the trainer.....over a fence......into an area of large bushes.....he looked at me with a look of horror! Luckily, a man sitting on a nearby bench, had heard it land ( bet he wondered what on earth it was!!...a dinosaur coming after him maybe) and crawled through the bushes, got the trainer and handed it him back. He put it on, and said he wouldnt go into the sand pit now, because he didnt deserve to!....well said....it was hard not to laugh, but what if it had landed in a pond or something?? ok , theres my views on AK.
