They don't know life without Kitty. My youngest doesn't deal well with death- at all. And Sam- with breaking his leg 3 weeks ago, finding out Wednesday that he needed braces ( his teeth don't look bad but evidently his bite is off in the back- so we weren't expecting this), and now Kitty- he's had a bad month! My oldest doesn't know yet. He's on a band trip and we decided to wait until he gets home tonight to tell him.

Tinkeroon and I recently lost our Crybaby and I'm not ashamed to admit that his death hit me harder that when either of my parents passed. I wish I could say something that would make things all better but only time can do that. He said that he KNOWS (he saw this during his moment) that pets, when they leave us and this earth, go to Heaven to be with the little children that have passed on. I don't know why that's so reassuring to me, but with my pets in the past, I've been devastated too when they pass, but knowing they're with little children up there is somehow comforting I bet Kitty is keeping 4 more little boys company now

My kids and I (and my husband) were very devistated. When you and your family are ready, think about adopting an adult cat from the SPCA. My kids feel very good about the fact that we rescued the new member of our family after she had live in a cage for 4 months. Kittens are adopted within 2 weeks, but it takes adult cats much longer. It makes it easier to deal with the loss of our old kitty because we know that we "saved" our new one from that life.
