I know he had a good lfe, he was an indoor only kitty. I will miss him so much. I'm sorry I'm telling you guys this I just wanted to talk.

My cat just turned 16 himself, about six weeks ago. And he's been having strange health problems since the fall, that only seem to be getting worse. He's now got another UTI that required emergency treatment this past Sunday, which is his second in only 10 weeks. He's also got lesions and bald spots on his belly that were biopsied but found to be negative for anything, and another lump is growing near his ribcage, very rapidly. (The previous lump was removed and found to be infiltrative lipoma, which always returns and tends to become malignant.) In short, my cat's immune system is falling apart, and the three vets he's seen don't know why. Before the end of the year, I know that I will be in the same position as you, regarding my indoor-only kitty of 16 years. We've been looking for a new place to move to for several months now, and it's difficult to find pet-friendly rentals in SF. I keep thinking that once we move, the stress of a new environment will push him over the edge, and he'll do what your cat has done. So, we've been dragging our feet at finding a new place, mostly because of him. (If we didn't have him, our options for finding a new place would be five times greater.) Here's to you for being such a great "mom" for your kitty. It's the best job in the world, and usually the least appreciated.
