The rides I grew up on and loved are now gone. Time Keeper, Dream Flight,Alien Encounter *even though I never had the courage until I was older to go on it!* and I have heard talk of removing Carousel of Progress!? The one thing about these rides is that they were imaginative and creative. It wasn't "BAM In your face Disney" it was Disney's take on the future. No Mickey Mouse or fairy dust, and certainly no cute huggable aliens that like chili dogs.... Tomorrowland did have some major good attractions, but those are long gone. Of course they still have some great ones! Space Mountain, Astro Orbiter, TTA(Tomorrowland Transit Authority), Indy Speedway, but something tells me they could be next...I will admit though, Space Mountain does need work. The last couple times on it were pretty rough and it could use a few tweaks and adjustments, nothing too big though. I feel that Disney has run out of ideas and is now just throwing all their *pixar films and movies* in our faces with the rides. They need to become more creative and back away from using their films as ride ideas. I say more rides like timekeeper and Alien Encounter! Yes lilo and stitch was cute and nice, but not for a ride, certainly not in tomorrowland! That ride never had a line anytime I went past it! The public is reacting! And the Laugh floor? I would say that belongs in fantasyland...erh, no it doesnt belong there. Fantasyland is for those old time stories, the really great ones! Laugh floor is boring, un-entertaining, *the audience was not moved by any of the jokes when I went* and just doesn't belong anywhere. And finally, Buzz Lightyear..well I have to say I enjoy this ride. Although it's no Dreamflight, its still good. But I have noticed a decline in attendence on this ride, the lines are not as long and the fastpasses are always available late into the night. IMO: Tomorrowland needs a facelift. They need to give the boot to the pixar rides and become a bit more imaginitive. Now yes, I am 18, and maybe I do enjoy thrill rides and such, but I am still in touch with those classics! I love Peter Pan's Flight and Mr Toad's Wild Ride, and I still ride Snow Whites Adventures! So hopefully Disney has noticed some of these things and will soon take action! Those are my thoughts anyway.

In my opinion Space Mountain, TTA, Buzz and Carousel of Progress are first rate. The others could/should be replaced (although I can't make a judgment on Laugh Floor yet because I haven't seen it). But I agree 100% that Disney could do a lot with Tomorrowland if they became a little more imaginative. Tomorrowland would not have a problem with becoming obsolete if they predicted far enough into the future. At this point in time there are quite a few major things on the horizon that are likely to happen but still are far enough away that an attraction won't become obsolete in five years. *Permanent base with the beginnings of a small city on the moon. *Human exploration of Mars. *Replacement of fossil fuels with renewable resources. *Development of computer/communications/broadcast media to where you will be able to easily access any of them from anywhere in your home with a single device. I think these could all be developed into good attractions. The question is would people respond to educational attractions, most of which would absolutely not be a thrill ride? If done properly I think they would. But honestly, I don't think it will be easy.

The Magic Kingdom is entertainment, so maybe some nutty, far-fetched Disney ideas of life in the 2100s.

You just have to keep an open mind while at the world and take in as much information and detail you can to really get the whole affect of the "magic"

This has been the topic of several hot discussions over on the DLR boards too. I'm all for change, but I do not like the direction that Disney is going with the overuse of character tie-ins.
