(I'm about to graduate from college thousands of dollars in debt already, and I don't have any idea what I'm going to do afterward, haha, so maybe this isn't the best time to be splurging..?) What do you guys think? Should I go for it? And/or what are your thoughts on the Napa Rose Lounge? Maybe we could still get a good experience there but it would clearly be a lot more reasonable. As of now I have a reservation at the Storyteller's Cafe for dinner, but after reading a number of review (and specifically CStephens' reviews of the Napa Rose) I am really ready to change that reservation.. Help! -nico

Sorry, I don't have any opinions on Napa Rose, never been there. But Nico is supposed to be in high school! That is what I remember.

Perhaps it would be better to go with this: you don't *have* to go all out at Napa Rose to have a good time there. Sure, there will be lots of tempting things, but you can try a little of this or that - and then, you can make the plan that when you hit a particular milestone, you'll come back and be able to enjoy the place again. That way, you'll still be able to enjoy a nice dinner without being completely irresponsible. The lounge is nice as well, btw, and would be a good middle ground, where you can enjoy the atmosphere and some of the feeling without having to spend too much. But then, I really like the kitchen counter seats as well. /cs

We're going to try to eat at the counter facing the kitchen if we can, so thanks for that tip CStephens. And I guess I'll just try not to go all out, but just order a few good things and be as reasonable as I can there. Thanks for the advice guys, -nico

If they're available, they'll reserve them for you. There are basically eight seats. Food is picked up by the runners in the middle, and there are four seats on either side. On the left side of middle, the two left-most seats look out over the salad and appetizers/sides area. The two right seats look out over the appetizers/sides and the non-red-meat entrees area. Soup and cheese-plate-organizing are on that side as well. On the right side of middle, the two left-most seats look out over the red-meat entrees area, and you get a decent glimpse of the dessert making. (That's where we sat last time. Here was the view to my left: http://www.colddeadfish.net/im ages/DLR/10-30-05/46.jpg.) The two right-most seats are right next to where the desserts are picked up by the runners. There are additional seats that are right at the dessert making area, but I haven't seen those being used the times I've been there lately. Have a great time! /cs
