And before we get started I am not talking about our dear TD who may very well be the most fair and balanced poster on these boards.

These are folks that can find absolutely nothing good about WDW. If they can't post something negative they don't post. I have found that I don't even read anything they post esp if they started the topic.

They may have something worth reading but due to the constant negativity I can't bring myself to even bother anymore. The great thing is that eventually everyone gets tired of it and the topic moves to bottom and out of site.

Just a thought. I want to hear the bad along with the good it helps me to make informed decisions but I question the motives and judgement of someone that can't seem to find a single redeeming quality in the entire complex. WOW that was a long sentence.

I'm climbing down off my soap box now.;)

You know there are those that are not able to like more than one thing at a time. They consider themselves disloyal.

I remember when my cousin was little I was babysitting. I asked him if he wanted a PB&J sandwich. He informed me in his little 4yo voice that "I can't like peanut butter cause I like jelly".

I think there are a lot of folks out there that are still 4yo in their thinking. And of course there are the ones that dislike anyone or thing that has more than they do.

Boy I'm in a philosophizing mood today. Of course I'm probably all wet.;)

A few don't bother me, trek on over to WE if you think there is a negative mood here.....downright depressing which is why I left it.....

    there are items I rag on at WDW too;
    1/ Pooh Playground
2/ Loss of spirit on Main Street
    being the main 2 ---

I don't think Disney should get a pass on anything because a person is a Disney nut ( and I am certifiable in this area) -- and i do try and give credit where I think things are done well and improvements made......

There is far more good than bad.....but I like many here can't turn a blind eye to a less than stellar effort by management either....they are the gold standard when it comes to parks and should be held to that standard..

True, some (including me) may seem down on WDW, but when it takes a carload of cash to get there, stay there and be in the parks, I expect a decent return on the investment.
If I want a lack of maintenance, cheapo rides and general crud, I can travel a half hour east and go to the Jersey shore boardwalk.

used to be there and the same Yahoo finance board for IBM.....however like you said, maybe 1 post in 20 is actually finance related -- and unlike LP -- they do not monitor language etc --totally out of control

No one should ever feel guilty about expressing an opinion, whether it be negative or not, especially when you pay an admission fee to enjoy your chosen park. However, we all have to keep in mind that going to a theme park for the first time, is like ordering out for pizza. You never know how good it will be until you bite into it.

I try not to be too negative about WDW because there's far too much that's good or great that outweighs the bad. But, for oldtimers like myself who have been there from almost the start, it is difficult to hear people say WDW has never been better, or it's so clean or the merchandise is so wonderful or the parks are open so late (see where I'm going with this).

I almost didn't start posting on these boards because I saw how certain people with views similar to mine were often treated and ridiculed.

And I have yet to see anyone, with perhaps one exception, with never a good thing to say about WDW.

You must be kidding! If any group of posters have been ridiculed it would be those with a positive attitude, or in the words of others "Pollyanna's"

I think it is fine to discuss things that are wrong but as veteran Disney freaks we do have a responsibility to the new people that have come to the board looking for useful information. If we are nothing but negative we will soon have the parks to ourselves as more and more people rely on computers as their source of information. On one hand this would be good but since the cost to visit would then jump to millions per person to keep the parks empty and "up to our high standards", I don't think I will be able to afford to go anymore.

So a little negative and, at least, an equal share of positive is good.

I have been going for a long time too. I see things that I dislike (this ones for you vbdad)like 20K replaced by plastic slides and 50 gazillion gift shops with exactly the same things in each one. But I can sit and look at the flowers and topiary for hours and hours. It's where I go to escape and so far it has worked. I am not happy with the change from unique shows such as WoM, Horizons, and 20K to thrill type things. Those dark rides were what separated Disney from the rest of the pack. The newbies either cannot or will not appreciate that kind of entertainment so it will soon be lost forever. That is sad.

My only issue is, it's fine to comment about your disappointments but some tend to go on and on and on and on and on about the SAME THING!!! Yes, WDW IS changing, some things aren't as awesome as they used to be, but we've also gotten some REALLY cool new rides and shows and attractions. Disney will always be Disney, it will go through highs and lows as with anything else. It's great to discuss EVERYTHING on these boards, good and bad. That's what they are here for! But don't let anyone change how YOU feel about something. If you LOVE the idea of the Pooh playground, that's GREAT! What I always say is don't let anyone else's opinion "ruin" Disney for you. It was sad, I saw a young family coming off of "Peter pan" and the little boy was jumping around with a huge smile on his face HE LOVED IT...his mother looked at the other adult they were with and said, "that peter ride was stupid" you should've seen the look on the little boys face!!! He was so disappointed and I'm sure it changed his attitude about the experience.

I know that the vision of Walt is that the parks never stop changing, and I am fine with that. I just wish that the executives would make sure that Space Mountain was painted nicely, and the buildings on main street look neat. My favorite park since it has opened has been EPCOT, but look at Spaceship Earth! No sponsor! Empty when you exit the ride! I think they have a responsibility to Walt to do a better job than they have been doing.. But I believe all that will be better! I believe that SaveDisney and Roy Disney's plan has made an impact...

You can call me a Pollyanna.. because I am! I will rarely complain, I will always be giddy about Disney and I will be the parent hopping off Peter Pan saying "That was so cool! I wish I really could fly!!" Because of that my 11 year old thinks that DISNEYWORLD is better than the beach and cooler than any other vacation destination and she still wants to ride PeterPan AND the Honey Pots without caring who sees her!... lol!

I also do not being frowned upon because i like the things that are ciomplained about the most. It has happened. Everyones opinion is welcomed, but also needs to be respected, no matter how negative or positive.

Now DCA is a whole different story. I don't even go to that section much any more. There are about 3 people posting who like the park (I'm one of them), everyone else trashes it mercilessly.
