I've been using them as Desktop images for a while, and thought others might like them as well. Will rotate images in and out at least weekly, and add more as I get a handle as how the bandwidth holds up. Hope you like the pics, Bernie

Originally Posted By rocket9 Wow! Glad that everyone's liking the images! I'm by means a pro, but always had a fascination with nighttime / long duration photos, and shooting digital enabled figuring out how to get good shots of the attractions at night, fireworks and such. All of these were shot with a Canon S40 - four megapixel camera, and for nearly all the night shots done with a mini pocketsize tripod (fortunately the parks have lots of good places to set tripods). All the night ones are multi-second exposures. The Haunted Mansion shot for example was a 15 second exposure, so the ghost effect in the image was just other people exitting the ride. Needed the really long exposure to catch the lightening effects lighting up the exterior, and as a bonus it caught the stars. It was about 3 hours after sunset, so the sky was plenty dark. The Fantasyland fireworks shot (my personal favorite, though there's some close seconds), was shot from right near Dumbo looking away from the castle. Best trick to shooting fireworks (besides the tripod) is to be sure to close your shutter as much as you can (say to f8.0), otherwise you'll just be shooting a lot of pictures of smoke. And it helps if you're really quick changing exposure times on your camera as the show changes (and hence amount of light in the sky changes), and if you can hear the shell launch and have lots of luck with your timing. I'll post some new shots over the weekend. And thanks to whoever's hitting the ads, the concept of getting any money (even if it just covers the hosting) is pretty amusing to me. Also, I am sure you know this but for people who would like to take advantage of well lit night scenes and still be a part of the photo... set the shutter to open and the flash to go at the end before it closes. That way, the back nightime panorama appears crisp and the subjects in front are lit and unblurry. But do remains still until the flash goes out!
