If this New MTR South East Island Line gets built, Ocean Park would get its own specially designed train station and it would connect HKDL and Ocean Park by the MTR (Mass Transit Rail).

No decision has been reached. The secretary for environment, transport and public works said the cost of building the MTR South East Island line is very expensive(over HK$7 billion), they are waiting for the studies from Planning department first.

Background information: HK Ocean Park is now undergoing HK$ 5.5 billion redevelopment. A separate development plan to build 3 hotels (including a 5-star/6-star spa hotel, 4-star Ocean Park hotel and a Fisherman's Wharf hotel at the proposed new Fisherman's Wharf at Aberdeen). There will be around 10 more new hotels being built in the Ocean Park/Aberdeen Area.

If there was a train station, I would've done it (of course, I'm not saying that was the ONLY thing that stop me. If I had more interest, of course, I would've made the effort), but I think this would make it more attractive for people to go who otherwise wouldn't have bothered.
