ORDDU: This replacement for Block Party Bash is just too short compared to what went before. It's also less energetic and less entertaining. ORWEN: There was this nice family who stood next to us and after the parade was over the first words out of their mouths was, "That was all? This parade is too short!" ORDDU: We, of course, felt the same way. There were fewer perfomers in this parade--obviously because of a budget cut back. But already we miss Block Party Bash. It was a very enjoyable parade whereas this newer parade comes across as some sort of obligatory filler. Shame on the Bean Counters at Disney who don't care enough about guests to give them something better than this poor excuse for a parade...

But really what can you say about the state of parades at WDW? I saw three wonderful parades in ONE day at TDL last month (one of which is about to be updated yet again). Both DL and HKDL are set to debut new parades that look fantastic. Yet, WDW shows the same crap year in and year out.

Spray painted Block Party floats, a 60 second loop of the old DCA music played over and over and over, and about three dozen performers cut from the budget. My favorite part, just for the pointless randomness, was the two Block Party traffic cones bringing up the rear for absolutely no apparent reason. Big Finish! I'm rethinking my plan to split this winters Florida trip between three nights WDW and one night UNI. I might go two and two now, spend an extra day at Universal Orlando (first time ever there) and just forget visiting DAK and DHS entirely this visit. There is nothing new to bring me to either park, and it's been years since my last visit to DAK. It's about to the point where the current WDW management is even worse than Disneyland management circa 1998-2003. Who the heck is running that place out there???
