I spent another New Year's Eve in Jellyrolls at the Boardwalk and had a GREAT time. Well, at least I think I had a great time. Portions of that night are forever lost from my memory.

Take it from a guy that doesn't know you- go to epcot for new years. there is space to walk, the fireworks for newyears are 100 times better than the MK, because all the magic kingdom does is show Fantasy in the sky, the old firework show, which isn't all that good. oh, and by the way, the magic kingdom park's parade that is themed for new tears is the same old parade- Mickey's mery, mery christmas parade. My family says going to the magic kingdom for new years is the worst place to be. the park is just so jam packed!, Epcot on the other hand, is not. Im going to epcot on new years, because i am going for a 4 day vacation including new years. I am warning you- DO NOT GO TO THE MAGIC KINGDOM FOR NEW YEAR'S

They run an earlier (regular) show for families and then a special extended version at 11:50. The crowds are a lot more manageable in Epcot on NYE. Still insane but you can easily find a decent spot for the fireworks and enjoy a nice glass of champers! They also have some awesome DJ parties (usually Italy, China and Japan if I remember rightly).

Do they pipe in the music there or anywhere else if the fam demands seeing the MK fireworks instead? I'd personally rather do Epcot, but if I'm in the minority I want to have a backup plan.

So, after two shots of tequila, more beer and a midnight champagne toast I was REALLY wishing I had booked the Boardwalk hotel that night!

It was rather amazing for Disney... the only place I've ever seen the wait staff and the entertainers actually encourage the people there to drink a lot!

But such special treats are now very rare, if not nonexistant, at the MK.
