This one is for you guys...

There's not many of you left out there . Not all girls appreciate nice guys.... But don't worry about them because they're missing out.

If you are a nice guy repost this: "Nice guys finish last."

If you are a girl that appreciates nice guys and thinks every guy should try to encompass even a few of these repost this: "To the nice guys"

The lesson: If a guy is looking for a fling, he should be a jerk. He will be rewarded and she won't expect much from him. Likewise, guys will chase bad girls, but they will end up marrying good girls.

Yeah I agree. People say being a nice person "isn't enough" - but really, it's a pretty good start!

Never change who you are (unless we're talking getting rid of bad habits and self-destructive behavioral patterns). Do not settle. First, you have to know enough about yourself to know what you need and what you want and who you get along with best.

First, do you want someone to marry or just someone to be with for as long as it is "fun"? What are your deeply held beliefs that guide your life? What are your goals? What attracts you to a person but won't get on your nerves five, ten, twenty years down the line? What kind of personality and intellect do you need in a partner?

Those are your starting points in developing a profile for "the one". Once you know who you are looking for, it will be easier to know where to look for that person.

At least, this is the approach that worked for me.

What are your deeply held beliefs that guide your life? I'm christian, pro-life (i'm not an activist), i'm a meat eater, no real special dietary restrictions, would go nuts with kosher (no bacon cheese burgers!), go nuts with vegetarian (I do eat vegetarian dishes, but I do like the odd steak, pork chop, meat loaf), I tend to mainly vote canadian right (that would be american democrat), i'm anti violence, I beleive in martial arts for self defence and self control, as well as exercise, etc. I like most sports except american football, enjoy bowling, shinny, bonspiels, so-so on tennis. My ideas of sport is recreational. I like skiing, ski-doos. My idea of a pool is for fun, not to do laps or dive :p I like nature, but I also like the city (I enjoy RVing, heh yeah i'm to young :p), but also like live theatre. Not into concerts heh. (Miss Candice will now repremand me). I believe in the nuclear and extended family. I'm not into any alternative lifestyles that I know of. I believe that criminals should be punished, not released. I think healthcare needs more funding.

What are your goals? Pay off mortgage, get a job that pays better, complete my education (Ok so i'm part way there, i've at least graduated heh), life long learner. Retire at 20 (heh that never happened.) Have a family. Live comfortable, maybe get a cottage someday.
What attracts you to a person but won't get on your nerves five, ten, twenty years down the line? Uh love of church, family, respect of God and all life, someone who is not a nudist.
What kind of personality and intellect do you need in a partner? I want as close to 50/50 as possible. I enjoy cooking, and some other things viewed as womanly, i'm a relatively clean and organized individual so chaos would drive me nuts. I don't want someone who has to ask me "Should I buy the beige or the taupe?" but I don't want someone who'll go "By the way honey, I just sold the house and we're going to live on a houseboat". I want a hand in raising the kids, I will do housework, but don't want to do it all (heh being single, this is a big one, cuz if I don't clean it, it stays dirty).

Those are your starting points in developing a profile for "the one". Once you know who you are looking for, it will be easier to know where to look for that person.

I'm looking for umm uh umm Judge Judy? Nope. I want someone a bit kinder and loving. Martha Stewart? She forgot her Polish roots, trys to portray herself as super woman, I don't want someone who will expect me to be super human. Pink? She parties a bit more then me, a bit less modest (I will not wear speedo's for example). Tall Disney guy, umm first off he's a guy... (I picked on him cuz he'd understand i'm only using him as an example), umm he's a guy, No thank-you. No offence to those who like guys, but my ideal woman, has to be a lady. Miss Candice, well she enjoys being single, so heh and she's an athiest or something :p (She know's i'm only kidding, she'd make a great bridesmaid though). Ladyklucky beamerdog, etc, well lets see their currently married, and extremely happy with their husbands, Besides I think i'd drive them nuts. Although I share Ladyklucks view on food :p Also I could never see myself with someone who's old enough to be my mom (although beamerdog would make a great aunt i'm betting) Aunt beamer can I borrow indefinately your car? :p

I'd use examples of people I know, but uh that would have no bearing to someone here. And I don't think posting my feelings about people on a message board is wise.
