We have booked the VIP tour service for 4 hours on Friday. We are really excited to get reserved seats for parades and fireworks. My MIL and FIL are coming with for a couple days of the trip and its hard for them to sit on the ground. They are 75 and 78. We are going to the CA science center for a few hours on Sunday for a star wars exhibit that ends that day. Then from there we are going to Universal studios for the day. Univ closes at around 7 that night, so I'm thinking we might add a day on to our hoppers so we can watch the fireworks one more time.

The kids dont know about the trip. We'll tell them the morning we leave.

We're planning on using vacation planning for some kind of basket delivery, we're going to order those customized M&M's and pass out as party favors (in classic Mickey colors of course); the Fantasmic dessert viewing; a limo ride to the park from our hotel (OK, so we're staying at Disneyland hotel, but we plan on taking "the long way"), customized printed t-shirts, pick up the birthday button/sticker at City Hall; we plan on getting one of those birthday buckets (well, maybe two because I want one!), birthday meals at Plaza Inn (Breakfast), Blue Bayou (Lunch),The Rain Forest Cafe (Dinner); and hopefully reserved seating for the fireworks (if they're showing that night), oh and one of those GoodyPaks. Whew, I think that's it... and that's just for one day!

After the cake Mickey and Minnie come out and do a conga line and then you line up for your picture with them - you can do more than one picture if not too crowded - we usually do one with the birthday person and one as a whole group. It is one way to get both Minnie and Mickey in one picture. It is very fun to do...

We wanted to go to the exhibit while it was in Portland, but it was during the holidays and we just couldnt get down there from SEattle.

Hopefully we won't exhaust them too much! We're also doing two character meals, but the rest will probably be brown paper bagged. We are all looking forward to it. We'll be there Mother's Day and the week following.

When I started this insanity, I had a countdown of 568 days. Glad to say, I'm down to 116. All that's left, is the welcome baskets for my parents' and my 2 sisters' hotel rooms, and a week's worth of Tinkerbell Treats for the kids. Oh, ya, and a special treat for Miguel over at the Candy Cane Inn for being such a big help with some surprises I have planned.

    116....it sounds SOOOOOOO good....

I do the Tinkerbell Treat for each night of our stay. After DD goes to sleep, I put a little gift on the nightstand for her to find in the morning. It's always in a pretty little bag, and I sprinkle a little sparkly glitter or confetti around it. The little gift is from Tinkerbell. DD is 12, and knows who really leaves the gifts, but she looks foreward to them. She made sure to have me remember the Tinkerbell Treats for our trip this year, for her AND my 3 nieces and 1 nephew.

DD is a Tinkerbell freak, so I theme her gifts around that. For this trip, I have a Tinkerbell italian charm for her bracelet, a Tinkerbell necklace, a Tinkerbell trading pin, a pair of Tinkerbell earrings, a Tinkerbell dangly charm for her other charm bracelet, and a Tinkerbell ankle bracelet.

The treats don't have to be elaborate or expensive...a lot of really cute things can be found at the Dollar Store...Princess lip gloss or Disney stickers, for example. It's more about the little bit of Disney Magic to surprise your kids with each day.

My DD loved the treats each morning, and I really enjoyed doing it for her. It was fun to watch her grab her gift the second she woke up. It was, "Mom, look what Tinkerbell left me!" I think she actually believed for a moment or two that Tink was actually there....seeing her face, I think I did, too.

Like I said, I put DD's presents in little gossamer bags that I found at the craft store. For my nephew, I picked up little white boxes that are used for wedding mints. I got some Disney stickers and decorated them....I didn't think he'd like the girly bags much.

The most inmportant part, is to keep this a TOP SECRET mission...if you get "busted" leaving a present, it ruins the whole deal. NEVER admit to being Tinkerbell. I even left a treat for my DH one morning. We were there on his birthday, so Tink left him a little present. It was a Disneyland birthday button that we made him wear all day.

I know you'll enjoy playing Tink, and I know your kids will love it even more.
