This whole political year isn't screwed up enough, so even the other side has to turn a wave into a Nazi salute. Look at news films and see what a real Nazi salute looks like. Everyone on both sides are becoming total a-holes. Stop the world I want to get off!
That was my exact reaction when I saw the report and the photo. Then I saw the video. It's absolutely a genuine, deliberate sieg heil salute. The nicest spin you can possibly put on it is that she did it deliberately to stir up this exact controversy and troll the media. But you don't get your own facts, especially when there's video. I have been doing some reading to educate myself as to just how Hitler gained his power. Bad mistake. It is just too scary.
I hate to do this, really, really I do, because the GOP these days pretty much makes me sick. But I'm writing this one off to a radio talker who made an awkward attempt to wave to the folks up in the cheap seats. Yes, it's a TERRIBLE attempt, I admit, but I think in that moment she went between waving to the crowd and pointing to them and in that instant, her brain locked between the "wave" and "point" settings. While all Nazi members are racist, a majority of racists here don't like the Nazis -- they're "for-uhn-ers" too. Even as extreme and, again, TERRIBLE as Trump is, and as much as his policies do indeed have mirror images in Nazi Germany and could indeed lead down the same awful path, this particular incident is the only evidence of any affiliation between Nazis and Laura Ingraham. She's a radio performer out of her element on a national stage. Unless you have other evidence, such as photos of her wearing an SS uniform while doing her radio show or expressing fondness for Hitler or neo-Nazis, this one I'm filing under "not true."
Nope. Nazi salute. Note her facial expression when she's waving vs. when she's saluting. I don't think she's a Nazi. I think she's a noise machiner trolling for publicity. Now some of her followers on the other hand ...
She's always trolling, yes. That's what radio talkers are almost always doing whenever the ON AIR light is lit. It's what they do, to paraphrase a GEICO spot. But it wasn't an intentional Nazi salute. This is the sort of out-of-context moment we on the left get furious about, and yet we'll dive right in when given half a chance. I'm sure any of us, waving to a friend across a distance, give what might appear to be a Nazi salute at times.
Ok, now just for a second stop wishing for something terrible and look at the rest of the video. There is no indication that it was anything other then a wave that happened from the side to look like the Nazi salute. But, it takes more then a salute to make it so. I don't like her stand on things, I hate Trumps stand on everything, but, I refuse to act like those propaganda specialists on Trumps side and make something out of nothing just so they can look good. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. Nothing will convince me, short of her readily admitting that was indeed a salute, to think that was what it was. Let's not be them, please. There are more then enough of them. Just be sure you get everyone you know out there to vote against that class A jacka.. before he gets a chance to do the damage his ego is leading him and us too. I want to see him getting beaten soundly by the gender that he clearly thinks is incapable of intelligence and sends him back to his towers never to be seen again.
