What a perfect ending to the day! Nov. 13 (Park Day 1) Our Group: My Brother My two daughters My daughters older sister My daughters older sister’s mom (ok…to simplify because we confuse a lot of people with this one…my ex is her ex J) Spent time getting autographs and pictures with Disney Characters! The girls were just so excited, they didn’t know where to start at first! We went in to City Hall and got some Honorary Citizen buttons for everyone. We went on Snow Whites Scary Adventures, Pinocchio’s Daring Journey, Peter Pan, Dumbo, King Arthur Carrousel and Buzz Lightyear. Hehe…while the girls liked the rides, they did get a little spooked on the Snow White ride and the Pinocchio ride. As we had reservations for dinner at Ariel’s Grotto, we went back to the hotel to change. My parents had sent some beautiful dresses for the girls to wear at dinner, my brother had some nice dress pants and dress shirt and I changed into a nice shirt and jeans. We left for dinner and had the best time! The first princess out was Ariel, who happens to be their absolute favorite! I was sooo glad we did this dinner! The food was great and the interaction with the princesses was perfect! We got to see Ariel, Jasmine, Snow White, Princess Aurora and Wendy. The girls were just in their glory! After dinner, my younger daughter wanted to go on the Ferris Wheel (hehe…this seemed to be her whole reason for going to Disneyland!) and we told her we would but we needed to let supper settle first. So we walked around for a little while and the girls started getting a little cold. So we picked up some nice hooded sweatshirts with Minnie Mouse on them and decided to get over to the Ferris Wheel. Now we take maybe half a dozen steps towards the line up and all of a sudden it’s announced on the PA system “Disneyland California is now closed for the day…hope you come again tomorrow, etc.†Well, my younger daughter hears this and knows that we would not be going on the Ferris Wheel and gets upset. So we tell her we’ll go on it first thing after her dance workshop the next day and that we’ll head back to Disneyland and catch some more rides and the fireworks and she calms down so off we go back to Disneyland. Just as we get onto Main Street who do we see but Mickey & Minnie Mouse!!! Now before we left for Disneyland I had told the girls that most likely we would only see them at their houses in Toon Town or in the Parade so they weren’t expecting to see them walking around in the park. Well, I had one daughter trying like mad to get the autograph books and my other daughter trying like mad to get the pens and all six of us are running over to get in line (hehe…while I’m trying like mad to get my camera out!). Mickey & Minnie finish pictures/autographs with the child at the front of the line and sign one more autograph and take one more picture and then announce they are going on a break and will see everyone later! Well, that was the end all for my younger daughter…her poor little heart breaks because not only did she just miss the Ferris Wheel but she now has just missed Mickey & Minnie! She has a little meltdown so we give her a couple minutes and I tell her we will go to their house in Toon Town if we don’t see them again in the park. This calms her down and we go on a few rides (mentioned above). We ended the night with fireworks and snow on Main Street. Man they were soo beautiful!! The girls couldn’t get over that it was actually snowing! After the fireworks and snow we head back to the hotel for some last minute swimming.
