The parks close early during that time (DCA 6 p.m., DL 8 p.m.) and have limited entertainment during the week, i.e., no Fantasmic. Also, not all food places will be open. Hungry Bear is rarely open during the week during the weekdays for example. Trade-off of course is the lack of people. You will be able to do a lot during the shorter hours of operation. Crowds are generally pretty light but will start increasing towards the weekend. Friday, November 17 will probably kick off the Christmas season with the holiday parade. Christmas decorations will be up. We always get our family holiday photo (in front of the christmas tree) during this week for our holiday cards.

We love going to DLR during this time. It is an opportunity to fully appreciate the DLR without the heat or crowds. We take full advantage of DTD as well as our hotel which is way we always stay on-site.

    Enjoy your trip!

The holiday parade does begin on Friday, the 17th...and it will begin to get busy. Last year the Saturday after the parade started on Friday, it was so packed that when we were leaving at after the evening parade, they opened up the backstage area on main street for us to exit.
