In the opening scene when Elizabeth Swan is a child on the ship. They rescue a young Will Turner. They show a ship torn in two and burning ( possibly from the Kraken? ). Elizabeth looks out into the fog and for a moment sees a ghost pirate ship. I now realize that she sees The Flying Dutchman. About 20 minutes into the movie when Captain Jack Sparrow is talking to the two British soldiers who are protecting a docked ship. Jack Sparrow says, "and then they made me their chief". I needt to finish rewatching Curse of the Black Pearl to find to find more observations. Just to add, I thought the second movie blows away the first one. POTC Dead Man's chest has to the THE most special effects movie ever. The plot is great. I really didn't think there were any slow parts. "It's Elizabeth Swan, quick hide the rum".
