I realize that they do not hold the same place in many people's hearts as Annette and Jimmy and company, but that was my introduction to much of Disney and a treasured part of my childhood. The shows were filmed on location in Disneyland and prompted my own family to take a trip to the resort on several occasions. I think that the footage of the parks alone would be terribly entertaining. I still have and treasure my Mickey Mouse Club album that I purchased at Disneyland and received a complimentary poster (which I no longer have). I have pictures of me in my pink mouse ears at the LA zoo. I wore those ears out, wore them all over the Southland. My dad especially appreciated that while updated that the MMC group still was a Kid next door experience and rather conservative so he definitely encouraged my MMC fandom.

Another item I'd love to see captured in Disney Treasures... the Anniversary Specials of the theme parks. I have some on tape but it would be great to have higher quality versions of the Walt Disney World Opening, Disneyland's various anniversary programming and such. I'm not sure how likely those are as they were probably not an in-house creation.

OH!!! The old Dateline Disney specials from the Disney Channel would be nifty, too. Remember those news briefs they would do featuring the latest attraction opening.

Would you buy old footage of various events? Disney has their cameras at everything for Cast tv or in-house videos. I'd love to own the various window dedications ceremonies. Add on a special feature of classic Disney commercials over the years and its magnificent.

o.k. enough of my dreaming and fantasizing....

What Disney television programs or Disney events would like you to own?

As avenues for content distribution continue to grow, maybe someday Disney will offer all this through some sort of video-on-demand system. The content exists already so why not?

Just my rambling thoughts for today... what would be the highlights of your Disney video-on-demand dream?

I'd LOVE to see a compilation that included all the DL attraction dedication ceremonies and festivities. There's been some neat ones like the 1980's New Fantasyland one. The Disney Channel in it's glory days had all kinds of neat theme park related specials, including ones on MSEP, Making of Captain EO, Making of Disney-MGM, Magic Kingdom Yultide, Singin', Dancin', Hi Ho from DL, Mickey's Nutcracker from DL, just to name a few. Would love those. A compilation of Disneyland related newsreels and other stuff from DL from the original Mickey Mouse Club. An alternative to releasing this material, some of which might not be possible to commercially sell, might be video on demand. Or, create a "Vault Disney" channel. I'm sure I could come up with more if I had my reference resources at hand.

I am rather baffled by the recently announced DVD's that are supposed to be in celebration of Disneyland's 50th. What in the world does Vintage Mickey, Best of MMC, or Justin, Brittany & Christina have to do with celebrating DL's 50th? WHAT were they thinking? Some of the Disneyland anthology shows that haven't been released yet would have been a much better choice of material to "celebrate DL's 50th".
