As sad as it was that he got away with murder, he was exonerated by a jury of his peers.

IMO, the jury basically punished him for his previous crime. Something which should not happen in our justice system.

If he gets life, it is a travesty, he may be a dirty son of a b*tch, but he shouldn't have his past court cases used against him which is what I saw in this case. It was basically impossible for him to get a fair trial.

Honestly, it's his own damn fault if he didn't get a fair trial this time around. Prosecutors don't always file charges for every single crime in a case but sometimes they throw everything they can at a defendant. Sure, they could have probably let some things slide but why should they? If he did the crime(s), he should be charged for all of them.

I am not going to lose any sleep over this. OJ should have kept his nose clean. It was stupid of him to tempt fate.

I just felt the charges against him were a bit exorbant. Kind of like how the Prosecuters were using this as payback.

Don't get me wrong, OJ is an idiot, I just feel that he might have gotten less charges put against him if he was Joe Public and not OJ Simpson, man who got away with murder.

It's kind of funny that he could really be this stupid.

Getting away with murder gave him a Messiah Complex where he figured he was untouchable...

I just feel the Prosecuters took this a bit too far. I believe in equal justice, not a different kind of justice for those who have gotten away with murder int he past.

Second, there was the issue brought up by the detective on the stand (and squashed by the judge due it being a legal opinion, but I still believe it to be true) that having the property in question not lawfully belonging to the defendant is not an element of the crime of robbery, at least in Nevada. I haven't read the statute, but taking the detective at his word, that's an interesting set of circumstances: you could be convicted of robbery for taking back your own property under threat of violence. Oh, let me add a third big mistake: having guns involved. Although even without guns it would still probably have been a robbery (of what they call the "strong-arm" variety), guns certainly make a bad situation much worse (and I do realize that OJ's claim was that he knew nothing about the guns, and that others testified that he did, so that's an unresolved issue).

Whether the property in question was OJ's or not, this situation was a recipe for disaster from the very beginning.

I'm fairly sure that you know this already so this is for the other readers who don't understand even basic criminal justice here in the US:

in theory he(as well as all others) doesn't need to supply one shred of evidence of innocence or exoneration. The state, supposedly, has the sole burden to convince a jury of guilt.

Everyone of us knows that Nevada convicted him big time on his past deeds rather than the case at hand.

And this is one of say 5 reasons why I set Old Glory ablaze every July 4th---after all I do need to show respect for this great nation.
