Also, the Lady Washington, aka the HMS Interceptor in PotC: Curse of the Black Pearl, will be at the embarcadero til April 1st. They've seen it before 2 years ago at that same spot and this will be my first time getting to see it and possibly board it (small price for admission I think).

So I'll be taking the Coaster (Amtrack) from Oceanside to Ventura in a little while, it's scheduled to arrive at 10:18. This will be my first time on Amtrack, and my first time on a (real) train since I rode the Metro Link less than 16 years ago from Corona to L.A.

The Lady Washington they said was in the first 2 PotC films actually, but from what I read online it's only been credited for the first one.

Thank you for reading, and I just pray I make it there and back in one piece :)

Drink up me hearties, yo ho! Have a great week everyone!

Yeah, they're starting to feel that same way. As Schmitty and fodd put it, it's a neat place and nice to visit, but other than that they're not enjoying it as much anymore.

Anywho, turned out to be a very interesting and worthy journey for myself :) It's just another experience to add to flying on a plane from one state to another or just flying on a plane period since I was probably 2, and that was an in-state flight. This time it was a trip on a train along the coast - even if the view wasn't entirely coastal.

Oh heheh, not really. I was just going by what my Mom had told me about the area. This was my first time to the place. I've been to Clovis and Fresno and Bakersfield, but never to the coastal part of Central California.

The Lady Washington was not there though, it was actually the Lynx that was there til today (April 1st). These folks running a "submarine" ride by the docks said it was just there a couple weeks ago and weren't sure when she'd be back, maybe around June. But she goes from port to port like Long Beach and San Diego, and they have a website too I believe.

Really nice shops. There was one called Captain Cook or something, a toy store of some sort. They had these things called Sea Rocks or Sea Glass, some kind of crystal, different colors for like .25 each. Among other really neat art stuff I can't describe off hand.

The 2nd night I was there, well they had been suggesting it the first night I was there, my Mom and I watched the movie 1941. They told me I'd love it and were right, it was hilarious. Great screwball comedy. There was a scene where this Colonel went to go see Dumbo playing at the theater.

The next day we went on this little boat ride, it's a yellow boat that goes out around the bay, or harbor, to a special area where you can go downstairs and see underwater. We learned that kelp is the fastest growing plant in the world and that it can grow up to 2 feet in a day? Anyways, after that we went over to this aquarium joint with a little area they bring in injured seals or sea lions and help them get better and when they're fully healed, they release them back into the ocean. The room adjacent to it, had some really neat fish to look at. One of which were leopard sharks.

They took me to San Luis Obispo, really nice. Near one of the campuses over there where a lot of college students hang out. Theres a Starbucks and a Barnes & Noble right there too. We had lunch at this Mexican Bistro place I think it was.

We went to Cambria on the 28th, my Mom's birthday, to a hotel lodge for dinner and they had a lounge with live music. The night we went they were playing classic rock.

The day after that they took me back to Cambria to show me what it looks like in the day time. But before that, my Step Dad took me to Cayucos, which is really nice and it's only about 7 miles from where they live. We saw an otter. It was eating a shellfish, then while still holding it I think, the little fella dove back underwater.

Later that night, my Mom took me back to San Luis Obispo cause I told her I was wondering if she would have time to show me the Madonna Inn, because she's told me about it several times, she's taken my Sister once, I guess my Mom and Dad had their honeymoon there, and I've never been. Interesting place.

They wanted to take me to see Hearst Castle in San Simeon, but we didn't have much time this visit.
