I picked up on a few minor things on the second viewing, and I'm sure there are a ton of other details hidden in there that will make more sense after we see a few more episodes.

My only complaint is that it's on at the same time at The Amazing Race. Poor planning guys! (or maybe it's time I finally get a DVR!)

And no offense, but the 'twist on fairy tales' has been done to death recently. Not to mention the Broadway hit 'Into the Woods' which did it all beautifully.

WAY TO GO EDDY AND ADAM!

(Then, again, this may be deliberate on the part of the writers so she doesn't come across as being too gulible.)

ORWEN: I'm hoping that, if the series continues on, they'll get around to spot lighting every fairy tale in the books! I mean, I'd love to see what they do with the evil fairy from Sleeping Beauty. Maybe she and the wicked queen could have a cat fight worse than Dynasty's Crystal and Alexis!!!!

ORGOCH: I was wonderin' why the prince in this dang thing had such a modern lookin' haircut whilst livin' back in his medieval times??? Didn't look right and made no dang sense!

ORWEN: As much as we enjoyed Disney's version of Rapunzel--which I refuse to falled Tangled--there were a few things about it that we did NOT appreciate--like the modern slang Rapunzel and Flynn were saddled with--like when she said, "Don't freak out!" That's not something a typical medieval maid would say and it was expressions like that which made us have to fight to believe this was really a fairy tale and not some modern story taking place.

ORDDU: Yes, fairy tales should allow you to be transported to another time instead of keeping you in the modern world which you're trying to escape from in the first place. So it remains to be seen as to whether or not this series will be an uplifting experience worthy of Walt Disney--or just a modern sort of crime drama mystery with a cast of fairy tale characters that sell out to an idea that leaves us wanting for something more magical.

And seriously...HBO needs to get Fables. It's the only channel that could do it right.
