Now, if you are coming from a SunBelt state, then you might find it to be a bit coldish.

At this time of the year, we don't tend to get tons of rain (usually the storms are ushering in a cold front, though not always). I do think we could use more rain, though.

Actually, I had the kids in sweatshirts yesterday and my wife wore a sweater. We are from Ft Lauderdale so it was actually cool for us. There were times (on the People Mover and the train for sure) when I wish I would have had a light jacket.

    But, we survived.

I do actually love this weather, but I'd need something warm to wear to the parks. If you (OP) are coming for 10 days, you will want to bring clothes to layer. I would advise: a swimsuit, shorts, t-shirts, pants, sweatshirt, and a warm jacket and hat/gloves. :) It got down to 29 last week, you never know!

I hope we do get more rain.

Luckily, we had our winter gear from Boston, because we VERY much needed it (and no, it wasn't sweater weather AT ALL!).

When you are working in 80 degree weather every day a 20 degree drop is pretty jarring. Now, I think it was probably in the 50s when I wore the really heavy stuff.

Also, 50's here feels almost like 30's up north. I am not sure why, but I used to not feel so cold when I lived in NJ (I could go out in shorts/sweatshirt in the 40's before I moved to FL). Then I get here, and 60's has me sooooo cold!

We usually go to Orlando in January and weather then can be all over the place. We've been at WDW in January when it's dropped below freezing and been there when the highs hit the nineties. You need to bring a range of clothes to handle any possibility. We usually pack shorts and jeans, long sleeve and short sleeve shirts, and a sweatshirt or leather jacket to wear on the cooler days.

Parkas??? We never wear a parka unless it is below 20 degrees, and it never gets that cold in Orlando.

As for rain, I've found over the years to ignore what weather.com says regarding rain in Orlando. Yes, it may rain some of the days, but usually it is just for a half hour or so and then the rest of the day is nice. There have been very few times during our trips when there was steady rain throughout the day.

    :)

We don't get a lot of steady rain. But when a cold front moves in, it may be cloudy and rainy on and off all day. We did have a lengthy thunderstorm a couple of days back. I don't mind cloudy weather generally, though. Unless it's really cold and I don't have my parka. :)

LOL. Its not unusual out here to see kids walking to school in 20 degree weather wearings shorts and a hoodie! My son has yet to wear a coat to school this year, and according to the nat gas bill we just got the average temp in December was 21 degrees.

I go with nbody's suggestion on packing a little of everything... just in case.
