For instance, I am part of a mom's group and have been for the past 7 years.

I have met up with one of the Oregon moms (& her husband & kids) three times now (interestingly enough, at Disneyland!), a Texas mom & her family once (again--at Disneyland for two days!), an Arizona mom & her son have driven through California twice and stopped at our house for dinner each time, and in March, we actually flew to New Orleans to meet another mom & her family! We even stayed at their house with them for five days. It was like seeing an old friend; after that many years of posting, e-mailing and talking on the phone, I felt like I knew her better than any other friend in life. No awkward moments or anything!

So anywho, I just think it's interesting how life has changed due to online friendships, and how much fuller so many lives must be, as a result.

So, anyway, back to my original question: Do you have friends from other boards or communities, as well? Or is LP pretty much it?

I just couldn't even imagine what it would be like to not have this place. For example, what would I do each July 17th at DL...hang out with me?

On LP I have all different kinds of friendships. LPer's who've turned out to be some of my best friends in "real" life. Traveling to their homes, weekend visits, vacationing together even beyond DL.

Others I email regularly with but due to distance or circumstance do not get to see in person often or at all.

Some that I see most trips to DL and then the general community that I just talk to almost daily on LP.

It's a weird kind of thing to have bonds with folks that sometimes I don't even really email much with, we just interact on here yet I know I can call upon in an instance to plan something or help others with. I just know we think a like or "get it."

Each brings a unique and treasured friendship to my life.

Some who still post, some who don't, but I've got a few close pals from there...we talk on the phone, some I do Christmas and birthday cards/presents with through the mail. My best "Mama's Family" pal who totally gets it in the same vein I do is also a Muppet fan, in PA, and we "met" at that Muppet board.

I have a couple of good friends from--okay, I admit it--an "Another World" group, and one of 'em is another Christmas/birthday card/present friend in IL.

Recently I've started posting at a He-Man board and there are some cool folks there too, but I'm too "new" to have really made any good friends yet; although there are some fans there right here in Kentucky, so maybe someday I can actually meet a few (some were right here in Louisville for a special She-Ra movie showing last weekend but with my schedule I couldn't go see it with 'em, grrrr).

Then there's "Sitcoms Online", and there are some good folks there too, but I don't really post often enough to create good friendships. Mostly check things out and occasionally post, unless a show I like hits DVD and then I'll post a bit more at that show's board at the site.

But LP has the biggest presence for me, and it's where I spend definitely the MOST time and feel the most "at home". I have the most "off-board" connections here too (phone, e-mail, mail).

It's like the other boards are my spleen, pancreas, etc., but LP is my heart. :)

I am blown away by the friendship of so many LP'ers. I think it is wonderful.

For me, I found out that DVC_dad and I, even though he's much younger than me, share so many friends from living in another area years ago and we now live very close. I would never have known this if not for LP. From our conversations and all we have in common, he's like family. :D

(One of them is called the "Disneyland Bitterness Club," in fact.) I get depressed enough about work without having someone else's negativity about Disney being broadcast at me.
