I wish I took detailed notes, but alas I'm noting challenged. So I'd like to just mention some special things that happened on our trip.

The first day was a travel day to Buttonwillow. We spent the night at the Super 8 there & I would NOT recommend it. I'm highly allergic to mold & this hotel has a whole lot of it.

We left around 9:30 AM, hoping to miss LA traffic & we did! YAY! We pulled into our hotel at 11:30, checked in & headed over to the park.

The park was absolutely empty. It was perfect. It was also a first for me this year to see the park so empty. I even took a picture of the Space Mountain standby line. 15 minute wait at 3:45 PM.

This day was one of my most perfect days. My first time seeing the 50th tree, low crowds, Christmas music playing, having a leisurely lunch at the Plaza Inn listening to the music. So relaxing.

My favorite moment of the day was when dh took dd9 on the Matterhorn & I took dd6 on the Tea Cups. It was evening & the Tea Cups are so pretty at night. Well, we got the gold tea cup, just as the parade came by. While we spun, we listened to "Welcome to our Family Time" It was just so perfect, spinning with my dd, listening to that, brought tears to my eyes. Then we rode Alice & when we came outside, there was Simba, right at our level. It was very cool.

The kids did poop out by 7 PM, & they made an announcement that the fireworks may be cancelled, so we went to DTD for a slice of pizza & then back to the hotel. We should have stayed, as that was the only night during our whole trip that the fireworks did actually go off. :(

We decided to do a FL Blitz Friday morning. We got to the gates at 8:20 AM & there was almost no line at all. YAY! We were all ready to dash up to the rope & wait for rope drop when we saw it. ABC was filming the WDW Christmas Special. We decided to stick around & see what it was all about.

Well turns out, they were filming at 9:00 AM & if we wanted to stay, we could be in it. It was the band Mercy Me & they sang Rockin Around the Christmas Tree. We got a great spot to the left of the 50th tree. So if you watch the special, look for us to the left of the tree, kinda behind the drummer to his right a little. I'm wearing a yellow shirt & the new Mickey Mouse ears (they're not silly, no matter what Pixie says) & my dh was wearing the Santa Mickey ears. (They leant the ears to us because they said my dh stood out like a sore thumb)

My kids rode Screamin' for their first time. They were so scared the first time, but them they were hooked. They LOVED it!

We met up with Blacksheep Uncle for brunch at Goofy's on Saturday & had a nice lunch. He has become an adopted Uncle to my kids & they call him Uncle Boo. After brunch, the girls & I went to Club Libby Lu while the boys went & rode Screamin. (Men have been known to grow breasts just by walking in that store you know) We met up later & rode some rides & stuff. lol

Boo had to say good-bye & then I was off to meet Lisann & her posse. We met up for fireworks, she saved us a great spot. Thanks Lisa! Only to have them cancelled again. :( So we went & had a late dinner, rode HMH & went back to the hotel.

What a lovely time you had, the visual of the gold tea cup, Alice and the Simba float is just beautiful.

I actually didn't make it to the filming of the Christmas Parade. I don't think my dh could live through hearing that song once more, so we did the Mercy Me recording. :D

Grumpyswife, yes, Thursday & Friday were perfect. Gorgeous weather, very low crowds. The lowest I've seen since May 5th.
