Apologies if this has been talked about to death, but I just saw this and couldnt believe it!! I can't believe Biden and Obama would even allow this to happen?? I guess they figure at the end of the day, it wont matter WHAT format they give her, she's going to screw it up regardless.

This makes me reeeeaaally mad and just proves what a complete and utter joke this pick is. She has experience and ready to lead on day one, but not ready for a standard debate of back-n-forth for five minutes per question?? How the hell is she suppose to face down Putin in a summit meeting if she can't even face Biden in an open forum??

This pick and this joke of a VP only proves shes there as a SYMBOL only and will bring no real substance to the party. McCain and Co. have been trying desparately as someone who can command and lead and then have her moose-in-the-headlights most of the time after that sad ABC interview.

So brush up Palin, do alll the homework you can because it sounds like since you are afraid to have a real face-to-face showdown, at least have some real clue what you are talking about.

Voting for her and McSame will be another cruel joke for America and after 8 years, I'm tired of laughing.

The same may even be true if she DOES run off the stage crying. Heck, they may be PLANNING to have her run off the stage crying for all I know.

It looks to me like the sane portion of the country is just about over her, and she's going to be at best a non-factor in getting the undecideds to decide who to vote for.

LOL, you read the part where SHE asked for the softer debate tactics, right ;).

It's funny people can't see the obvious. Yeah, she's soooo ready to 'destroy' Biden she can't get even get into a real debate with him, just answer and questions. But, maybe she's afraid she will be TOO much for a man with decades of experience and actually BEEN to Iraq a few times and not its border. Suuuuure lol.

This woman is a joke! And its funny to me how people accuse everyone of falling in love with Obama and she comes out of nowhere 3 WEEKS ago and after a single weekend, never heard of her and have no clue what she thinks about anything other than being pro-life and 'loves jesus' the conservatives are falling all over her.

And now of course her getting preferential treatment only proves to some she's more than ready. I don't get it?

You've been living out of the country too long. Just a couple weeks ago, McCain's campaign manager, when asked why Palin was being held in a sound proof booth, unavailable to reporters to question her, he said that the press better be respectful and deferential if they ever hope to question her.

You didn't know it, but apparently the vice presidential candidate is some sort of royalty, and must be treated as such.

    Happily, Palinmania is ebbing.

This whole thing is beyound sickening. Until she came along, I convinced myself that if John Mccain gets in, it may not be so bad (and it may not), but after this circus pick, we alll better Pray McCain is the healthiest 70 year old in America.

So, let's rack em up, one flimsy interview so far on ABC, a convention speech and about about 34 of the same stomp speeches that arent very far off from the convention speech and now a debate where they are already asking for 3rd grade style rules and yeah, alll that tells me she is more able to hold her own as #2 behind leader of the free world position.

    Unreal!

(Nice to hear from you again Kartoonman :))

Isn't it something? She won't blink. Because that's what's important: not blinking.

Can you imagine the reaction from the right if a Democrat demanded a "deferential" press? LOL

Somehow, it seems okay to give her a pass on this. Why? Because she's 'just' the VP nominee? They know she doesnt have much experience on such a big stage?

    It is odd.

I think that ship's already sailed.

Besides, she won't be able to say an original sentence from now on without SNL crucifying her for it.

    Ain't politics grand?

(BTW, I don't see anything "unreal" about that debate format. While it's more restrictive than the Presidential candidates are going to get, it's still a legit debate, and less restrictive than some have been in the past.)

She is CLEARLY not ready and I have a big feeling this restrictive debate will prove it.
