Does anyone else have something like this, I'd love to not re-invent the wheel )

Well, it's not the brass stake located in the center of the back entrance to the Castle. It never was, either. That's just a surveyers marker, around which the Urban Legend has grown. (It marks the center line of Main Street and the Hub.)

The actual center was originally just to the west of where the Partners statue is presently located. Today the center is in the moat, to the west of the main drawbridge.
