I had kept saying that I was looking most forward to Saturday as Rod was blocked out and we would not be going in. We had planned to sleep in, rest, swim, do laundry, watch a movie or two. But since Rod would be spending the day calling shops and tow services I told my friend that we could do an early morning together. She had not done RSR or Tower or TSMM so we headed to DCA at opening. This is really interesting as most folks were either heading to RSR to ride or get FP. We were heading for the single rider line. As we passed the FP distribution there was a CM announcing that the Raceway was down and there were no FP’s. Now, the crowd did not actually come to a halt with every one running into one another. But it did just kind of go into slow motion as people tried to figure out what to do. We headed to ToT and even though there was no line it took over a half an hour to get through it. I think they were not ready for the crowd that headed there from Carsland. We covered the rest of DCA, went to Bengal BBQ for lunch and headed back. Rod and I still had time for a swim and a movie and everything was set for Monday AM.
Now, I have never traveled with a computer but just lately have moved into the 21st century. So I was able to check my meet thread a was shocked to the bone to see Rivkah posting after many years. She and her siblings introduced us to LP in 2005. I was able to text her and we met up for a few hours. It was so great to get caught up. That was on Sunday. That morning we did the Minnie and Friends breakfast. We always enjoy this but this one was especially great. The characters were all super friendly and bouncy. Most of them made it by the table three times.
On Monday we had plans to meet later in the day with murfsmom and her hubby. We always have such a good time with them. So, early that morning, I left for my daughter’s while Rod waited for the towtruck. My grandson and I were able to leave early and get to the Park for opening and headed straight for Peter. He wanted to do something more exciting so we headed for BTMRR, Indy, Buzz, Star Tours and even Mansion. We were planning to get FP’s for some and ride the others. But there were no lines so we just walked on them all! We did all this before 9:30.
Then we met up with the rest of the family. The good news was that Rod called and said it was the Master Cylinder and the part was on its way. They were taking the girls in their fabulous Repunzel and Snow White dresses and wigs that my daughter had made to see a princess show. So Garrett and I were on our own again.
He wanted Matterhorn so we did single rider. Before we got off I got a text that the job was done. Work was done and we were all back in Disneyland by noon! All for only $317. What a tremendous relief.
We kept Garrett and did Screamin’ and RSR single rider while they took to girls to Ariel’s grotto for lunch. They were very disappointed with that. Too expensive and little interaction with the princesses.
We left for Disneyland to meet murfmom and hung with them for a while then we all went to DCA for Soarin’ and finished up with RSR. Such a fun time.
We wanted to meet up with the family as it was their last night. We really did the Park, ending with King Arthur’s Carousel. Poor little Morgan. This happened three years ago as well. She just comes all to pieces when she realizes that we are leaving Disneyland for good. I am not talking an, “I don’t want to leave” tantrum. I mean a true broken heart with tears and sobbing. That kid really “gets it.”
The next day we were able to meet up with murfsmom for lunch and a go on BTMRR. They were ready to leave and I still had a friend from home who happened to be there to meet.
As luck would have it, they were heading for Thunder for FP’s so we just waited there and got them too. Then we went to Lincoln and I used my discount for some souvenirs for her. Then we did Thunder with them and her husband was ready to go.
Our trip was winding down now. We were all alone with no plans. We had our dinner and stayed for fireworks at Coke Corner. We had added an extra day to unwind after our ordeal so we had another night. We should have just relaxed and left in the morning. But we went to the Parks where it was overrun with busloads of teenagers. It was hot and crowded and the CM friends we tried to meet up with were either on break or off that day. It was hot and miserable but I could not leave without doing something. So, we went to Snow White and Pinnocio as the lines were mild. Then we did our goodbyes and left. I texted my granddaughter to let her know I contracted her Morganitis; meaning I too wept as we were forced to go back to reality.
The trip home was uneventful. We did stop a few hours from home to sleep rather than get home late. It was pretty windy so Rod was doing all the driving. We talked about going for a swim when we got home and were so upset to find that our pool that we had worked long and hard on before we left had emptied itself. Then we went to the barnyard to find one goat kid that was very sick and beyond saving. (Had we not added a day I might have been able to.) As upsetting as these were; after a brush with tragedy; they seemed pretty minor.
Thanks anyone who reads all this, I know it is long.

Thank you LDT for caring about our little goatie. Though it is always sad; it was our only loss this season.
